“quiet, clean room with a small balcony, beach towels are provided, comfortable beds, large shower, breakfast: good selection, sometimes the bread was not refilled, coffee (filter coffee) was not to our taste. Washing machines and tumble dryers are available for free use. You have to be lucky to get free parking.”

“Very clean and nice location next to the public parking lot, free parking from 7pm to 9am. Hotel provide parking 7euro per day. Walking distance to Sarlat tour spot. Room looks renovated and kept clean. There is no electric tea kettle though. In the room we have a fridge and microwave oven in 1st floor terrace. There is no hair conditioner, hotel provides shampoo and soap.”

“The location was great for the centre of La Rochelle. The staff were friendly Disliked · We had an executive room, goodness knows what a standard room would have been like. The room was tiny, looking out on a wall! The shower room was like a broom cupboard the extractor fan was so noisy , especially in such a small space. You couldn't even pull your trousers up from the toilet, the door was so close. The shower had mould and you touched the control with your body, it was so small, , so it went hot or cold ot off while you were trying to use it. The carpet in the bedroom was threadbare and had bad mark's. We won't be staying here again. .”

“Booked for nine nights but we could only put up with four. On two nights we were woken up by noisy guests on the terrace, at 4AM on the second night and 1AM on the last night. Nobody answering the telephone on reception to deal with it. We also rushed out of the hotel due to a fire alarm late one afternoon. It turned out to be a false alarm which we only found out from a passing employee on his way to the restaurant and who offered no apology. The hotel may have lovely views but it is let down by the indifferent attitude of the staff.”

“The hotel was superb with Frank and his family being excellent hosts. The only drawback was that the restaurant was not serving hot food because as they had a fire in the kitchen last year. Recommend hiring a cycle and a horse drawn carriage ride around island. Definitely will return.”

“Great location and balcony views of the seaside. Rooms are clean and functional for a short stay. Rather expensive for the facilities. Sadly no coffee making or safe facilities. The fridge however was a welcome bonus, as was the onsite parking. The automatic heating was frustrating and the air conditioning very noisy; but still a plus in the warmer weather.”

“An old building facing the boardwalk but far enough away to feel relaxing. The old building has been remodeled, keeping the old charm in the right areas, but the rooms are fully updated. Good AC. The man at the front desk was excellent!”

“The hotel was clean and reasonably comfortable. There is no air con which is a must in July, and the building felt a bit tired and in bed of a lick of paint. The pool area was lovely, better than expected. Staff were great, and although breakfast was served in the room which was nice, it was really basic.”

“I have had bad luck because the surroundings of the hotel have been blocked due to protests and/ or construction. Suchen is on the other side of the street which is good. I needed to drive widely around the city to come back onto the original highway as planned. The room and the hotel itself are fine and basic. good parking space, friendly receptionist. The price compared to B&B was too high. Standard is very comparable”

“Location very central and the room was a good size, however when we went up to the room, couldn’t get into the wardrobe (which had the spare towels) because the door was broken. Told reception who sent someone to fix it but it still wasn’t perfect. There was only 1 coffee pod for 2 people so had to ask for another one. The car park is really small and not designed for today’s bigger car models. Yes it’s free but better to park somewhere else, less stress. If you do stay here get the car park details before as it’s really not very clear where you have to go.”
