“Came to stay at this hotel specifically for a decent nights sleep. Didn’t get it. The noise from the room upstairs was loud late into the evening. And then early again next morning. Could hear their TV, footsteps and creaking floors. Hardly slept. Very disappointed”

“We went to our friends wedding there over the weekend and it was really good. The rooms were nice with a walk in shower, comfy bed can't complain about anything. Breakfast was again brilliant the sausages are to die for. The price of the drinks over the weekend were reasonable overall a great stay and the service was superb nothing was too much bother for any of the staff.”

“We visited Sykeside for Sunday lunch and were impressed by the surroundings, the service, the menu and the cost. We were greeted warmly and shown to a seat in the lounge bar. Our drinks were brought to the table and our order was taken. We were then shown to our table in the restaurant. Lovely food, well prepared and beautifully presented. We had three courses and then a special mention about the coffee. It was served in a pot and there was enough for at least two cups each. The cost was most agreeable especially when prices go up in other places on a regular basis.”

“There was no one in reception when we arrived so we had to go to the restaurant to get our room key. We stayed in room 24, which was a double and it was a large room but could do with a bit of an update. It was clean but the fixtures/fittings had seen better days. The lights above the bed were wobbly, the toilet roll holder and toilet seat were too. Shower pressure in bathroom was good and there was a hairdryer in one of the drawers The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything being screamed by the family next door who let their young children run riot until 1am bouncing off the beds and running about crashing into things. Not the hotels fault but still not what you need after a 9 hour drive. There is no air con so rooms were hot. We were too exhausted to ask for whether a fan was available from reception. Although room service isn’t available they will pop food on a tray for collection. The food we did have was good. Breakfast was quick but a little on cold side. Ample parking and there is a lift up to the first floor.”
