“Came here with a friend after dinner on a Wednesday’s night! The cocktail bar was not super packed nor loud, a great place for us to catch up while grabbing a drink! Staff was very helpful with my cocktail selection and gave very nice recommendations. However, my yuzu cocktail was a bit too mild for me. They also did cocktail on request, overall a nice place for friends or couples to spend time with!”

“I stayed in the Hotel & Key in October 2023. I found it a very pleasant experience. The staff, particularly all of the receptionist staff I interacted with were very sociable and polite. All the staff were very proactive to help and demonstrated amazing flexibility in assisting us. The staff at the Lion and Key were very proactive in accommodating myself and my wife in every way they could. The room was very boutique, stylish and comfortable. The Hotel has an amazing ambience and a warm welcoming atmosphere. I most definitely would stay again and will recommend to others.”

“Our room was quite small but very nice. Good location. As a frequent traveler I have become accustomed to welcoming staff, even in London. While the staff was “professional “ almost robotic like, they were not welcoming or inviting, especially the man I think is Italian. When we asked questions, his demeanor was a bit condescending. We did not feel welcomed.”

“I loved that this hotel didn’t have any windows as we could go to bed early (to get into a different time zone), with no light! The room was fairly compact but very comfortable with everything you could need including a great bathroom & tea making facilities. Although the hotel doesn’t have a lobby it does have a nice shared space where you can get coffee watch TV & use a computer. The location is what makes this hotel so perfect, as it was only a very short walk to the airport terminal & you didn’t have to go outside as it’s located within the arrivals halls at Terminal 3.”

“Lovely welcoming staff. The Manager tried her utmost to accommodate us with a room change but this was not possible. However I appreciated her efforts for trying. She kindly offered us complimentary services. The room was ready so we were able to check in on arrival about noon which was really kind. So if your room is ready they will let you check in early. The room in the basement is very dark and cold and tired looking. This is not the fault of the staff but the owners. The owners need to update the facilities, update the internal glazing and fix the aircon as during the day and night it was very cold. I’m sure they would’ve provided a stand alone radiator if I had asked but that just dries out your throat and eyes so I never bothered. Carpets are stained and worn. Bathroom shows signs of wear and tear and mould. But the shower was hot any time of the day. Our towels were changed each day and our beds made, without us even asking, which makes a nice change. Like I said the staff are lovely it’s a shame the owners don’t update the rooms. We stayed in room 008. Large family room in the basement which is not what was shown on the website when I booked. I should’ve checked with the hotel before that the family rooms shown when booking is nothing like you would get. There was some noise outside the bedroom window from about 7am, maybe staff entrance or bike parking? You could hear the footsteps of the floor above which was noisy most of the time. We did not eat at the hotel so we cannot comment on other services. If this hotel was revamped I would stay again as location wise it’s excellent and the staff are nice. However I would not stay again in its current condition.”

“I booked the George Hotel as a friend of mine had visited earlier this year, however after I booked I read the reviews and I was a bit apprehensive, hence the reason I am leaving this review. Overall our stay was pleasant and satisfactory. The hotel is in a great location and situated quite close to the train station. Hotel cleanliness is good and I highly recommend the breakfast - great value for money. Most of the staff are very nice, especially the guy at reception who checked us in (the blonde lady at reception would do with some smiling and people skills though!). The only downfall is that there is no lift.”
