“Arrived at hotel no sign of our booking, showed email and receipt and this still wasnt good enough. Night porter wanted me to pay again. I said No, then he agreed to give us a room but wanted me to leave my credit card behind desk - I said No, then he asked us for our ID and I showed him my driving licence, this wasn't good enough - he wanted identification cards. He then wanted to keep hold of my driving license - it was now 1.30am and I wasnt very happy! I refused and then said he can photo copy it - he said he didnt know how to do this and then took a picture of my driving license! - room isn't great! Dated, carpets filthy!”

“Cannot comment on rooms, as I did not stay there. We stopped by, had a lovely pot of tea, and rested before continuing on to family living nearby. What we did see of the hotel was clean and welcoming. Staff were attentive and helpful. Would not hesitate to book a room when next in Honiton.”
