“I absolutely loved my stay at the Royan Hagia Sophia Istanbul. The room was modern and clean; I loved the decor throughout the hotel (chic imperial). The lounge area was very peaceful if you wanted to take a break, get some work done or even have your morning coffee. The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and went out of their way to give us advice, recommendations and help us get around. The location was superb - right by all the main attractions and very walkable. There are amazing restaurants close by with tons of options. We booked the standard room - I will say, it was a bit tight with our two large suitcases and 1 carry on, but we managed the space by stacking the suitcases in 1 corner. Travel light or upgrade to the slightly bigger room if you happen to be staying for a longer time; however, the price point, location and accommodations are well worth the visit.”

“This hotel is a gem! Bang in the middle of the old district and overlooking Gulhane Park. The tram stop is right at the end of the street. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the cleaner left Turkish Delight each day for us. The staff are charming and welcoming, and catered for my gluten free needs each morning at breakfast. We made use of the Hamman, sauna and swimming pool in the basement, which was great. When we left all of the staff came out onto the street to wave us off, which was such a lovely touch. I can't recommend the hotel highly enough, so five stars all round.”

“I stayed at this hotel for three nights. The night I checked in the receptionist, didn’t know English at all. I had trouble to understand, and to communicate with her using a google translator. Somehow, I managed to check in. I was lucky to meet the gentleman who is a trainee at the same hotel, I would like to name him (Ali). he was really really helpful. He knew English really well and just to let you know that he knew five languages and he is only 20. At the time of check-in both my suitcases were broken by Turkish airlines and I needed to buy reasonable quality suitcase for my onward journey. In a small town it was a struggle to buy suitcase at night. Ali was helpful to organise a taxi for me and even accompanied me to help me to buy suitcases. Reception staff even couldn’t tell me that there is a restaurant who provides room Service. I came to know on the very last day that there is a restaurant and there is a room Service, which of course I utilised on my last night. Rooms were nice, spacious and air-conditioning was working well. Breakfast was available 4 levels below the reception and there was no lift. People who struggle to go down the stairs and come back again, will not be able to enjoy the breakfast at all ( I am one of them). There was no room service for the breakfast. We did not avail the breakfast service even for a single day. At the time of checkout in the morning, I had two big suitcases and requested for bellboy to get my luggage to the car. Unfortunately, they told me that there is no bellboy available before 7 am. I persisted. Somehow they managed a person who could get my luggage to the car which was appreciated. So for a four star hotel person with a reasonable knowledge of English should be available so that the basic communication can be established. This is tourist place, we came all the way from Australia to see this place( Cappadocia). I would not recommend this place to foreigners, save your money and go elsewhere with better staff hospitality.”

“A great location for a hotel, about 10 minutes away from the town and right outside some shops. We stayed here for two nights in two different rooms. The first room had AC that didn’t work but the second room was lovely. Breakfast not the greatest. Service is impeccable but improvements can be made to the hotel generally as it looks older than it should. Very good value though”

“I had an amazing stay with family at Goreme Inn during the recent visit to Cappadocia. The rooms were spacious and had a royal touch, also offered a fantastic view of the caves. The hotel's location was convenient, right next to the main street, so no hiking was required to reach the hotel (a lot of other hotels needed a long uphill walk). Our host, Emre, was excellent, always attentive, and ensured our needs were met promptly. Will definitely recommend”

“We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was clean and larger than expected, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It was nice to have our Turkish breakfast served to us at the table rather than needing to get up and down for a buffet. Buse, our server, was especially sweet. Workers were very responsive to our needs, including the owner, who helped us with a navigation issue on my iPhone after we had already checked out. When he heard that we had stayed for our anniversary, he gave us a gift of their own virgin olive oil. The first two nights there were what seemed to be private parties in the garden with live music that was a bit noisy. They were Turkish preschool graduation parties. We didn’t mind because it brought back fond memories of our own experience like that with our daughter. They probably would have let us join if we asked, but we were content just to observe from our windows, which looked onto the garden and the sea. It finished by 11 PM. We were quite busy each day, exploring the countryside in our rental car, so we don’t really know the full day atmosphere of the hotel. If breakfast is any indication, it is a quiet and relaxing place, where the layout of the garden makes you feel like you’re in your own little world.”

“I did it, you don't! I wrote a comment before but it was removed. I think I wrote too much detail, which is why it was objected to. A place not worth all those kilometers. Although Datça is a must-see place for a short holiday, you can choose a hostel for less money and get friendly service. It is impossible to see even a smiling face here. They don't make eye contact for a glass of water. It's like they're fed up. Everything is a complete fiasco! The business must develop and improve itself in every sense. Maintaining friendliness and hygiene should not be this difficult. The service was already so bad I don't even want to go into detail. We would never choose again.”

“Bring toilet paper! The hotel is pleasant, in a quiet and peaceful place, next to a forest of olive trees. There is a spacious yard and a pool. The problem is the staff. Does not speak English. He doesn't try hard and isn't engaged and kind. There is no bar, there is no one to make you a coffee or a cocktail. The worst thing is that the rooms are not cleaned. We stayed for 5 days and during that time the room was not cleaned, no trash was taken out, no supplies were provided. We asked them to clean on the third day, but they either didn't understand or didn't want to do it. On the fourth day, we bought toilet paper from the store. No big deal, it's just not right for this to happen in a 4-star hotel. Summary - nice place, very bad management.”

Good included breakfast, free valet parking and best place to enjoy amazing sunsets of Izmir! Excellent value for the same ambience of more expensive hotel chains on the same strip (or with an inferior view on the street behind Kordon Otel Pasaport). The rooms may be slightly outdated compared with the brand-name competition next door, but knowing you support a local small business is worth more than looking at some blend cookie-cutter hotel furniture IMHO.”
