The room was beautiful, the hotel lobby/lounge and bar has such a good vibe and the staff always went above and beyond to accommodate you with genuinely friendly service. The room was huge, beds extremely comfortable and the location was perfect for a quick weekend in Montreal. We were also there over New Years, and it was so lovely to have a place to eat, drink and enjoy a coffee while the whole city was closed for the holiday.”

“We had a fantastic 4 night stay at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the hospitality was top notch. The location was just a few blocks from town, so we could comfortably walk everywhere. The breakfast was very good and all the extra little touches, such as very nice umbrellas at the front on the rainy days and the water given to you each night, really made you feel welcome. The front desk took care of booking a cab a couple of times for us as well. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.”

“The hotel itself is very beautiful from the outside and the room was nice as well. Moreover, the pool is really beautiful and there was no one else so we had it all to ourselves which was a nice touch to our stay at the hotel. However, the spa isn't that big and I suppose you'd have to share it with strangers which kinda sucks. The only thing that was a negative is the lack of staff and the lack of tv channels to watch. The price was reasonable.”

“Service was FANTASTIC! And the hotel is well located. The only complaint I have is that they promise spectacular views, and the pictures on the website aren't representative of the view we had. I was in a suite, so I kind of expected the same view we saw on the website, but it was nowhere near that beautiful. Other than the view being a little underwhelming, the rest of my experience was good. The staff is very friendly, the service at the valet parking was very good and the hotel is well located and within walking distance of many local attractions!”

“Our experience here was outstanding. Comfortable and well-appointed rooms, friendly and very helpful staff and outstanding food in both the restaurant and bistro. And the chef is to be commended; the food was so tasty with excellent flavors and presentation. We recommend the fixed price menu. And for something more casual, we went to the bistro after a (very) long day of hiking. We had excellent burgers and enjoyed relaxing in that space. All in all, a great place to stay in a beautiful location. Most highly recommended.”

“I had the recent experience of staying at this boutique hotel for one night. Overall I love the hotel style which shows history, the tall ceiling, breakfast including how it was delivered (placed in a metal basket and on the door knob). The room was immaculate. The day I was there wasn't a day there would be parties, and there seemed to be fewer tourists around the old town, therefore I didn't experience any loud noises. It was a good short stay for me.”

“Awesome location! The hotel is very well located. Even if there is no parking at the hotel, you can find planty of parking spots nearby or pay 7$ for a reserved parking that the hotel suggests. I enjoyed reading about the history in the lobby. The building is beautiful and has been removed recently. The rooms are super clean. The bathroom is big and has everything you need. The room we got was a bit small and had no view, but we didn't mind. It was cozy. We would definitely come back.”

“My family and I did not have a good experience at this hotel. When we checked in I specifically asked front desk if our vehicle would be in a safe secure location and they said yes. This was not the case, we woke up and looked out our window and saw hotel workers taping up our back passenger window. My parents immediately went down to lobby to find out what was going on. Someone had smashed it in so effectively they lied straight to my face about our vehicle being protected. They did refund the room and parking fee but by the time we were done making a police report and talking to our insurance we went to go get breakfast and they said they couldn’t give us anything at all to eat. Terrible customer service. We now have a week long vacation and a drive back to Ontario in front of us without a back passenger window and it is not warm out. Happy holidays! Adding onto the extra letters in a sentence. Hotel staff was rude and had no clue what was going on , could have asked them the most generic question and they still would have have dithers while new world. This hotel is literally trash do not stay here.”

“We were really looking forward to this stay. However, upon entering our room, we noticed that the beds did not seem to be made well but didn’t think much of it. After just dropping off our luggage, we ventured out into town for dinner etc. Upon returning, my niece being in the washroom noticed that the towels on the rack had something on them. Upon closer inspection it turned out that all the towels on the rack were filthy & stained with things I don’t really want to detail. We went to the counter & the lovely lady at the front desk did try & address the issue. She mentioned that they were having issues with some cleaning employees. Upon reaching out to management, she offered a replacement room. Instead of a 2 bed room, we were given a studio with one king bed & a sofa bed. This was fine but there were absolutely no linens or pillows for the sofa bed. However, the friendly attendant did her best to provide & we managed for the night. We also attempted to have drinks & a bite at the Bistro in the hotel however we changed our minds when clearly the 6 waitresses that were there preferred to ignore us and just continue to chat amongst themselves the entire 20 minutes of us waiting at the table. The worst thing was that we were the only clients in the bistro at the time. This hotel has so much potential. Although being quite dated and in need of some serious TLC & renovations, it is beautiful located & possesses a castle like look & feel. I truly hope they address the issues.”

“The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was fast and without surprises. This hotel feels brand new with quiet rooms and lots of amenities. My compliments to the cleaning staff. The room was spacious with a nice layout for both work and rest. We could barely hear the air handling system and the beds were very comfortable. There was lots of hot water, and the bathrooms were modern and spotless. It has both above ground and secure underground parking. Very helpful and friendly staff.”

“Although the location is not too far from Old Quebec City, the neighborhood is full of homeless people and random strangers who will make you feel very uncomfortable when walking back to the hotel at night. Check-in time is 4 pm, which is very unusual. The experience is nowhere close to a hotel experience; it's definitely a hostel experience. The building doors are locked, and you need to ring and ask them to let you in if it's before your check-in time. You will be in a very hot and uncomfortable area called the "lobby" with no washrooms, only a bench. There's no greeting, and the staff are very unfriendly. Reception is only open between 10 am and midnight. The hotel room was very hot as the AC was not working properly. We asked the staff to check it, and they admitted that the room is hot, but all we heard was that this is the coolest temperature that the AC can be set to, and there's nothing they can do. Another big surprise was the outlets! We're not sure what the problem was exactly, but when we plugged in our devices, it took them all HOURS to get charged! There was obviously something wrong with the power in the building! I cannot describe the frustration! The fridge was empty, and when we asked for some water, they said we could use tap water in the washroom! This was the first time in my life going to a hotel where I was asked to drink water from the washroom tap. The sheets were not visibly dirty but smelled really weird. We were happy we had brought our own pillowcases. There were no shelves in the bathroom to put stuff like shampoos! So you needed to put them on the floor!!”

“We got to the hotel and my room was taken prior by an elderly man who brought his dogs to the hotel. I got another room three doors down. The same man had his dogs barking all evening until 10pm. He came back several times to “calm them” and the dogs would start back up. Hotel tried to resolve the issue while his pets prevented a lot of guest from sleeping. Breakfast was not a hot breakfast. No meat and only pastries with eggs that still had the shells on them. Will not be returning. The only nice thing about this place is that the beds are comfortable. Sauna cannot be enjoyed with your partner. They only had one hot tub working and the other one was broken.”

“Bed was very comfy, even though it was just a full size. Next time I’ll be sure to look for Queen. Overall the hotel is old and can definitely use a spruce up. Bathrooms especially. Breakfast is okay. Tho I asked in advance for gluten free bread - and they were unable to provide. No effort was made to obtain this. It’s also a bit noisy so bring earplugs if you’re a sensitive sleeper. Staff was all wonderful and very nice. I do recommend they update the hotel with a lick of paint and some nice fillers around bathtub and faucets. It’s old but comfy. I wouldn’t go back as I do feel price wise it should have been better. Especially when you look at the website pics. I expected a lot nicer look in person. Croissants 🥐 were yummy at the breakfast my husband said :)”

“Lovely hotel. Basics, but that all you need. Restaurant right beside it was 5 star. Then there is a cafe outside of the hotel which has very healthy options, I got a smoothie in a bowl. Hotel, room was more than adequate, large wardrobe and bathroom. Very clean. Mini fridge in room. Everything was comfortable. Room did not have a comfortable chair to sit in only a desk chair and the bed. There were 2 steps down to the room from the bathroom, I didn't like that for accessibility reasons. ( I have a cane) In room coffee maker but no services in the lobby. A tea coffee or hot wat are in the lobby would have bumped up my experience . Overall great locations, easy access, rent a bicycle across the street. Friendly staff. Two thumbs up.”

“Looked good when walking in, but… This is not a 4 star hotel, it’s a 3 at most. - No elevator - First time I see a hotel restaurant you have to reserve for, especially when you have a room. Still tables available but you’re told it’s fully booked. No room service offered. - All lamps and alarm clock unplugged, not enough plugs for them and the lamps were dusty - Can’t lay down the bathroom carpet and open the bathroom door; it’s one or the other - No information book in the room. Doesn’t even tell you what time checkout is at In all, disappointing booking. I’d probably get a better price vs service ratio at a motel.”
