“We’ve traveled a lot of places in Europe and don’t normally leave reviews. But as I depend on them a lot when deciding where to book, we felt like this place warranted one. The hotel and the rooms are fantastic and the location is amazing, but the service is the worst we’ve experienced in Europe. I attribute this mostly to us speaking English. Most places we’ve been are totally accommodating and we did our best to communicate in German, but the staff is outright rude if you aren’t fluent. The dinner is not worth the price (go to the Castle Brewery up the road instead!), but the breakfast is good. Would not stay here again. P.S. all saunas are nude so heads up. Tried to look into that before coming out here and couldn’t find any info on it. Hopefully helpful for other English speakers.”

Guests at the chalets are also able to use the hotels many saunas and pools, which were very fun. And they are dog friendly!”

“During our two-week vacation in Germany, we stayed in many hotels, but this one stood out as our favorite. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Despite our limited knowledge of German, they were very accommodating and made us feel at home. The view from our window was breathtaking. We gazed out at the serene Bavarian mountains, with an abbey in the distance. During the golden hour, the view was especially stunning. We enjoyed the peace of the area, and it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Needless to say, we would love to return to this hotel someday. In fact, we've even considered reaching out to the staff to see if we could hold a wedding or elopement there - it would be the perfect setting for such a special occasion!”

“Wow. What a way to end our trip. The hotel setting (location and inside) is exceptional. Although the building is obviously old, the hotel is updated. There's a fine line between dingy, cheap updates, and what hotel eisenhut did which is update their space to embrace the medieval and old age influence while allowing it to feel clean and welcoming. Location is perfect and walkable to all key locations within the area. The hostess was genuinely friendly and we were allowed to park earlier/before check in and she also housed our bags as the parking is around a 5 min easy walk. Our room (41 or 40..) wow! What a view! There is no air-conditioning but they did provide a portable fan which worked extremely well! Our room also had 2 large doors that opened to a balcony. My only complaint was that the bidet smelt and looked dirty (if we stayed more than 1 night I would have asked for it to be cleaned). They had a lovely courtyard for drinks. I would 10/10 recommend.”

“We had a lunch reservation for 5 a few days ago and I had my small service dog with me. Ms Schütz at the reception greeted us with a very rude “the dog cannot come in here!!” instead of saying Hello. Upon checking with the manager and showing the verification of my service dog, Mr. Alois Rainalter still refused to let us in. This is discrimination and unacceptable! I would not give one star but there is no other option. We will obviously never go back. Instead we had a wonderful, delicious meal in the beautifully decorated restaurant at the Hotel Krone in Stein near Immenstadt who welcomed us and my service dog with open arms.”

“Restaurant Review - American perspective: We had the roast chicken quarter & half with potato salad and chips (french fries). It came with a nice salad (and as all salads I tried in Germany, was served with a vinaigrette already on it. Getting a salad without dressing is nearly impossible). Dessert was 2 scoops of a good quality gelato/ice cream with a rolled wafer cookie. Chicken was roasted with good flavor, though some pieces were a little under cooked. The potato salad was a table favorite with potato and cucumber and a light vinegar dressing.”
