“Fabulous! We stayed for a night and enjoyed every moment. The best ryokan experience one could ask for. Our room, Kiraboshi on Level 3, was traditional and well-maintained. The private onsen offered a fantastic view of the mountains. The food was well-presented and delicious. Lastly, the service from all staff exceeded our expectations. Although some didn't speak English well, they were incredibly kind and caring (Mika - we love you!). If you plan to get massages, I recommend booking in advance due to limited space; we were disappointed to miss out on this.”

“We had a really amazing experience at the Gora Hanaougi! From the moment we entered, all of the staff we interacted with were extremely welcoming and helpful. The property itself and rooms were immaculate, and we also really enjoyed our dinner there. The private onsen overlooking the mountains was specular. We were initially a little apprehensive booking this given the price point, but the experience was well worth it! Thank you!”

“Nice place to stay and enjoy the hot spring, the food, and the view. The English speaking staff was especially nice and greet us during our breakfast. It took around 10 minutes by the K line bus from the Hakone train station. Will visit again when it’s autumn season 🍁”

“Me and my husband spent one night at this ryokan during our honeymoon in Japan. It was so relaxing and romantic. The staff is nice and professional, the interior is beautiful and the food is great (even tough our western palette had difficulty processing some of the things served). We highly recommend this place and wish we could go back!”
