“I absolutely loved my stay at the Royan Hagia Sophia Istanbul. The room was modern and clean; I loved the decor throughout the hotel (chic imperial). The lounge area was very peaceful if you wanted to take a break, get some work done or even have your morning coffee. The staff were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and went out of their way to give us advice, recommendations and help us get around. The location was superb - right by all the main attractions and very walkable. There are amazing restaurants close by with tons of options. We booked the standard room - I will say, it was a bit tight with our two large suitcases and 1 carry on, but we managed the space by stacking the suitcases in 1 corner. Travel light or upgrade to the slightly bigger room if you happen to be staying for a longer time; however, the price point, location and accommodations are well worth the visit.”

“This hotel is a gem! Bang in the middle of the old district and overlooking Gulhane Park. The tram stop is right at the end of the street. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the cleaner left Turkish Delight each day for us. The staff are charming and welcoming, and catered for my gluten free needs each morning at breakfast. We made use of the Hamman, sauna and swimming pool in the basement, which was great. When we left all of the staff came out onto the street to wave us off, which was such a lovely touch. I can't recommend the hotel highly enough, so five stars all round.”

“Huge balcony with amazing view. Easy access to the lake. Perfect location for pedalling. Friendly and helpful staff, but difficult to communicate with. Able to accommodate us last minute. Music playing in the corridors was too loud and disturbing, even late night, despite telling the reception multiple times. Walking distance to town center. Homey and cozy. Perfect peaceful holiday.”

“The most important thing - it's not a 4 Star. At all. It's 3 with some additional issues. Lobby/restaurant interiors are rather old and remind a train from 60s. You probably found this place as a "price for value" option. I stayed here exactly because of that. But I couldn't predict one day without hot water 😅 I was lucky. (That's why my personal rating is 2 instead of 3) No issues with the staff. Nice people. I love the district. Quite and not overcrowded. Many awesome cats around. “Please be very cautious about this dangerous place. As a guest at this hotel, I am completely dissatisfied with their reception and management system. The day after I checked out, I realized that my shoes were missing from my suitcase. I immediately contacted the hotel, and they said they didn't have them. After reviewing my entire time there in my mind, I am certain that they are definitely there. Despite my numerous phone calls and visits, which exceeded 7 times, they told me to come and pick them up without apologizing and said they had just found them. The hotel has a very ordinary breakfast, and I hope you don't fall for it. The gym is very small and messy, and instead of opening at 12:00 noon, it opens much later. I hope all travelers pay attention to these issues and then make their decisions”

“I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The service was terrible, the rooms were dirty and outdated, and the noise levels were unbearable. I would never stay here again. Here are some specific examples of the problems I encountered: No lock for the bathroom and shower, your kids can open the door while we are taking the shower as no any lock The walls were thin, so I could hear everything my neighbors were doing. When I took a shower, all the water leaked out onto the floor. I asked for an extra towel, but the staff said they would only give me one in the morning. The staff was rude and unprofessional. They were always in a hurry and didn't seem to care about my needs. When I lost my access card ( plastic card ) , they charged me 5 euros to replace it. I would give this hotel a negative review and recommend that others avoid it.”

“By Turkish standards this was a good hotel in a safe vibrant neighborhood with a lot of restaurants nearby. Nothing stood out but nothing disappointed either. It has a modern vibe which is our preference. Popular with medical tourists. Rooms were clean and quiet but the wifi required constant login after each elevator ride. Annoying!”
