“Great place this. Made better by universally friendly and helpful staff. I stayed for 3 nights. Did a mix of self catering and buying food/breakfast in the cafe. Room was basic but fine. Communal showers and toilet always clean and available. Bike store was safe and dry. Thoroughly enjoyed it.”

“Took my mum here for afternoon tea for her birthday. Brilliant service, staff were very welcoming and helpful. We were seated in a window with excellent views over the lake, the hotel is situated on a great spot for views of the area. The food was excellent, great scones. Attention to detail when we requested vegetarian. The lounge we were seated in was also dog friendly so we were able to bring our dog too, I've found this to be rare when going for afternoon tea elsewhere. Overall a fantastic experience!!”

“We had a beautiful night here over Christmas. The whole atmosphere is gorgeous - the perfect country pub. The room was stunning, with great cosy decor and an inviting stand alone bath, plus the body wash in the room smelled delicious. There were treats and a ball left out for our dog too, he was very pleased. The food was top notch, we had the steak pie and the fish and chips followed by a cheese board and the chocolate and raspberry tart. All were perfect. The staff were just lovely and we had a great chat with a waitress who was making us laugh with her love for mushy peas. The location is stunning too, surrounded by country side and great walks. Couldn’t recommend more.”

“Wonderful stay! Tom and the staff are exceptional. You feel welcome from the first minute and you’ll always be greeted with a big smile. The hotel is located up the hill which makes the view of the lake simply astonishing and utterly beautiful. I love the medium size hotel which makes you feel special with personalized attention and very good service. The best for the end: The 5-course dinner was incredible! Highly recommended. I had such very lovely time with my fiancé, we couldn’t have chosen a better place.”
