Hotel Galería Plaza San Jerónimo
4.7
( 16 reviews )
Closed until 03:00 PM

Av. Contreras 300-Interior de la Plaza, San Jerónimo Lídice, La Magdalena Contreras, 10200 Ciudad de México, CDMX, Mexico

“We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the amenities. We even made sure to visit the restaurants and received good service. The issue that brought down the rating was when I went to check out, the front desk person and manager decided to charge me $35 for a family member that visited and we sat by the pool. This was after we paid for the food, hotel and extra fees. I asked if this was shared with me when I checked in and they proceeded to argue the fine print. I don't plan on returning for this reason.”

“If it is within your budget, I believe you will be very well pleased with your stay here. Everything about it is a class act. Normally I’d write more, but truthfully, that’s enough. It is a fantastic hotel. With one qualification as follows. But here’s the thing. Would I, personally, stay here again? Probably not. I slept okay but, for me, the beds were a bit on the hard side. And my sleep wasn’t as great as at another hotel that I tried on this visit. So I moved back to my favorite hotel of this trip, noting to you that it does not have a gym, swimming pool, or restaurant (so please don’t rule out Cartesiano if you want a gym and swimming pool). To give you an analogy, it’s like a restaurant where the food is great, but there is that one person who is a little more sensitive to saltiness than the majority of people, who would not enjoy the meal as much even though the food is great. Well, that is me, respect to bed comfort. I don’t like hard beds, and am just OK with semi hard beds. I came to Puebla in January 2024, with the intention of seeing museums that we had missed when we were here in October 2023, visiting more restaurants, that we did not have an opportunity to dine at, and to try a different hotel, each for two nights, before moving onto another hotel. The intention was to check out several hotels at various price points for comfortable beds, because, you see, in Mexico a lot of times, the beds can be very hard, and in some cases it is like sleeping on concrete. Hotels opt for harder beds because they last longer before needing to be replaced. So on this particular trip, I visited many hotels during the day to check out the beds, and stayed in four different ones over the length of my vacation of two weeks.”

“We just went in the Restaurant to eat something. The view is amazing, it looks very beautiful. The service was great - they were really nice. I can totally recommend the lemon soup. The tacos were too thick and the guacamole was a bit thin.”

Carr. Cancún - Tulum Km. 55.3, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R., Mexico

“My wife and I come here often, the staff here is second to none in the world, we have never had a bad experience here. From the moment we walk in until the time we have to left and I mean have too. There isn’t a single staff member here that I wouldn’t hire away from here if I could. Ula of course is my favorite which says a lot because I/we love them all. The restaurant doesn’t open until 7am and I’m an early riser so whichever staff member is here in the morning always get me my cappuccino even if it’s only 5 am. The entertainment staff Fernanda and ixchel are like my own daughters and treat me that way and I love it. Would protect them both as such. The entire experience with the staff here is what keeps us coming back again and again. Wish the price wasn’t so high now but the staff has no control over that, would come even more often if we could afford more. Recommend management take care of this staff because we believe they are not replaceable!”

“My wife and I have stayed here before and enjoyed ourselves. We previously stayed in Garza Blanca by the beach. While they pushed their meal packages and time shares hard, it is a pretty property with nice rooms (especially since we paid to upgrade to the honeymoon suite each visit). Last year we booked (and prepaid for) the honeymoon suite - when we checked in, they told us they had an upgrade available for us at hotel Mousai up the hill. While we enjoyed the adults-only aspect of it and the view, the room was not nearly as nice as the honeymoon suite at Garza (it was one of their standard rooms). Figuring that the hotel was more expensive, we never questioned it. Later, however, we compared prices and our honeymoon suite was much more expensive than the "upgraded" room at Mousai, so they downgraded us rather than giving an upgrade. With that said, we really like the area and the property so we booked a room at Mousai for this year. They put us on the bottom floor where we heard the people walking around outside all day and some at night. We asked (at least 3 times) if we could move to a higher floor and even offered to pay for an upgraded room - we were told that we would get a call from the manager each time to discuss, but we never once heard from the manager (or anyone else). That is not how I would have expected a multi-year guest would be treated (we have stayed here at least three separate trips on consecutive years). In addition, service here has gone way downhill in other ways. They forgot (or decided not) to leave us clean towels in the room, didn't clean parts of the room, didn't leave any water bottles (that they are supposed to leave daily), told us they would bring items to the room that they never did, etc. To add to the experience, the girl who checked us out did not give us a checkout slip. When our car arrived, the bellboy asked for it, so I went inside and asked the girl who was there. She was on hold on the phone and refused to also give us our slip while on hold (which was just sitting on a counter). Keep in mind, our car to the airport was waiting for us. Luckily, the one who checked us out came back after a few minutes and handed us our slip so we could leave. With all of that said, some employees are great. A couple of the doormen were very helpful (way more helpful than the front desk girls and concierges), and at least one of the cleaners is sweet and helpful. Overall, I'm glad we had this experience. We were planning to discuss purchasing a timeshare with hotel management, but after seeing how long-term guests are treated, we no longer have any interest in doing so. We will also never stay at any Garza Blanca/tafer resorts properties again.”

Gran Hotel De Querétaro

C. Benito Juárez Sur 5, Centro Histórico, Centro, 76000 Santiago de Querétaro, Qro., Mexico

“The hotel location is unbeatable. The rate included a basic but decent breakfast buffet offered from Monday-Friday. The rooms are quite dated and in an urgent need of a good renovation. The carpet at the rooms are ghastly, burned, dirty, torn and burned. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. They truly make a difference.”

Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya

Carretera Cancun Tulum 307 Tulkal Chemuyil, 77774 Tulum, Q.R., Mexico

“My wife and I stayed 8 nights at the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya in January 2024 for our honeymoon. Pros: Amazing rooms. Very much enjoyed the jungle view from our room The quality of the food at the restaurants was exceptional The resort was quiet (in a good way) - we never had to worry about not finding a great spot at the beach or at any of the pools Cons: Keep track of your spending yourself. They added a $50 charge to our bill for a restaurant we never ate at. Only because my wife kept track of our spending throughout the week were we able to identify this charge. Default daily housekeeping service was to not make the bed and to leave used towels on the floor. Once we called the front desk, we received wonderful housekeeping service for the rest of our stay. However, I was disappointed that the default housekeeping service for a 5 star Hilton Conrad was so poor. Expect to regularly see plastic on the beach. They do not clean the beach on a daily basis. And when they do, they leave smaller pieces of plastic/trash behind”

“I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Hotel Esencia! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the stunning beachfront location and the warm, attentive staff. The rooms were not only beautifully designed but also incredibly comfortable, with breathtaking views of the ocean. The food at the hotel's restaurants was exceptional, offering a delightful blend of local flavors and international cuisine. Whether I was enjoying a beachfront breakfast or a romantic dinner under the stars, the culinary experiences were always top-notch. One of the highlights of my stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure that my every need was met, making me feel truly pampered and relaxed throughout my visit. The amenities, including the spa and pool, were also excellent, providing the perfect opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. And the beach itself was pristine, offering a secluded and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Overall, Hotel Esencia is a hidden gem that offers a perfect blend of luxury, natural beauty, and exceptional service. It's a place I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway. I can't wait to return!”

Tamasopo Road - Agua Buena KM 2.5 INT B Colonia Camino Borrado, 79700 Tamasopo, S.L.P., Mexico

“stars due to beautiful outdoor. Pool ,greenery .only The rooms are like a cheap motel. It has a funky smell. It does have amazing water pressure in the shower. But for the price they need to upkeep the indoors of the rooms. The doors are cheap and look like anyone and walk into them. No deadbolt , paint falling off and wood chipping off the door. They don't have one bed only 2 full size beds. The rooms need a new paint job. Outside needs. Good power wash. The road to this hotel is bumpy and lots of pot holes. Also they take inventory on everything I mean everything . They will go in the room after you turn in the key count the sheets, towels, see if everything is good and you have to return the TV remote and ac remote to the front desk”

Jashita Hotel & Pandano Restaurant

Baia, Punta Soliman, 77780 Tulum, Q.R., Mexico

“Jashita Tulum, located in the pristine coastal town of Tulum, Mexico, is a luxurious hotel that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and modern amenities. The hotel's architecture seamlessly integrates with the surrounding nature, creating an atmosphere of serenity and relaxation. One of the highlights of Jashita Tulum is its exquisite swimming pools. Surrounded by lush vegetation and offering breathtaking views of the Caribbean, these pools provide a refreshing oasis for guests to cool off and unwind. It is important to note that being located in a tropical environment, mosquitoes can be a common occurrence. The lush greenery and proximity to water bodies create an environment where mosquitoes thrive. As a result, guests might encounter mosquito bites during their stay. Jashita Tulum in Mexico offers a perfect blend of luxury, natural beauty, and environmental consciousness.”

Bahia de Petempich SM 12 MZ 31 Lote 14-02, 77580 Puerto Morelos, Q.R., Mexico

“As many other reviews stated, this hotel is definitely not one you’d choose if you’re looking for a sprawling, pristine beach. There’s a lot of seaweed and rocks but our kids loved building sandcastles and searching for shells just the same. There are many pools to choose from but the same cannot be said for chairs. If you want chairs, you have to stake them out before 7am or you’re out of luck but who really gets to lay in a chair if you’re traveling with kids anyway? Ha Food and drinks were average and the kids loved the snack bar (pizza, burgers etc) for lunch. Service was great, whether restaurant staff or entertainment. Everyone was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure guests have what they need. Overall a great pick for a family vacation with kids but probably wouldn’t recommend for anyone looking for quiet and good food/cocktails.”
