Carrer del Pla de la Torre, 16, 08398 Santa Susanna, Barcelona, Spain

“During my 8 night stay at this hotel, I was met with a mix of positive and negative experiences. On the positive side, the hotel itself is undeniably beautiful, boasting stunning pools and picturesque views. Additionally, its close proximity to the beach was a definite highlight. However, the negatives overshadowed these positives. The customer service at the front desk was simply terrible. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, leaving a lasting impression of rudeness. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that the waiters became visibly upset when I requested a glass of water instead of purchasing drinks. To add to the frustrations, the in-room phones were completely non-functional, making it impossible to contact the front desk for assistance or inquiries. This was highly inconvenient and added unnecessary complications to our stay. Moreover, the overall attitude of the staff was rude and unwelcoming. Their lack of professionalism and hospitality greatly diminished the experience and left me feeling unwelcome as a guest. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel based on my personal encounter and am genuinely confused as to how this is considered a 5 star hotel.”

“As soon as you step into this hotel, you can feel peace and tranquility wash over you. The staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating. The food was yummy. The grounds and sea views are breathtaking. I love the uniqueness of each room, with gorgeous balconies and incredible views. The coastal walk to nearby secluded beach was dreamy. I can't wait to be back soon!”

Avinguda de José Díaz Pacheco, 26, 17480 Roses, Girona, Spain

“Not a 5 star resort and WAY over priced. We had the penthouse suite which did have a nice view and large balcony. However, the furniture and decor in the room was very odd. The bed was on the floor, there was very little horizontal space and the shower was inside the closet with no door. We walked down 4 flights of stairs to the beach, if you can call it that. The beach was a 1 meter to 1.5 meter swath of rocky shore with no chairs or umbrellas available for use. In order to get a beach towel, we had to walk back up 4 flights of stairs to get a towel from the front desk. While I collected the towel, I asked if there was a place on the beach to get a drink. The front desk woman seemed irritated and answered, yes, the Pirate Bar, located in the hotel. We walked down to The Pirate Bar to get a drink to take to the beach. At first I could not figure out who was working here, as about 6 workers were all spread out over the tables and eating there bagged lunches. The one bar back who was working, almost knocked us down with a rack of glasses. No, excuse me to get by...he just barrelled on through. When we found the bartender, I ordered a Pina Colada, which I saw a picture of inside the elevator. The bartender told us that they do not have glasses to take to the beach. She then said that we could have a super small styrofoam coffee cup to take to the beach. She poured out pina colada mix, .50 ounce of rum and plopped 1 ice cube in the 50 ml cup. This travesty of a drink was 11 euros. It was not a blended or frozen pina colada as the picture in the elevator showed. Just syrup and 1 ice cube, which IS NOT a pina colada. I asked the bartender why it was not blended and she told me that it was blended. I told her that it takes a blender and lots of ice to be a blended drink. Later that night, we went to the Blue Bar in the hotel to receive our free drinks that we were promised on check in. There were no signs to indicate which area was considered the Blue Bar. We walked up to a server, Alejandro, and asked is this the Blue Bar? He looked at me with a scowl and stated, "you need to wait". I was shocked by his angry attitude. We eventually figured out where the Blue Bar was and Alejandro waited on us. We ordered a Gin and Tonic and Alejandro told us that this was not a cocktail and he walked away. Definition of a cocktail ˈkɒkteɪl/ noun, an alcoholic drink consisting of a spirit or spirits mixed with other ingredients. A gin and tonic IS a cocktail. When we checked out, we were asked if we enjoyed our stay, and my husband told her that this hotel should not be rated a 5 star. The front desk worker told us that it was a 5 star in Spain, and that we had too high of expectations. We then told her that we live in Barcelona and we know that true 5 star hotels do exist all over Spain. This is just the tip of the iceberg, but the underlying feeling that we had was that we were not welcome here. Most of the staff treated us with distain, as if we were in their way. Not a 5 star, over priced and very rude staff. Run away as fast as you can. Do not stay here.”

“It's a nice place to have a cozy, quiet vacation. Views are nice. All in all, it has only two downsides: 1. Overpriced restaurant. This, perhaps, is just a personal preference thing, but in my and my spouse opinion, the price is a bit too high for what you get. After a stay, I visited a different place with prices at a restaurant 1.5 times higher, but the food was a thousand times more delicious. Again, this might be a personal taste thing. 2. Don't make my mistake and leave expensive items in a room - they might get missing and you won't ever find them again. This was unexpected for me from this level of a hotel.”

Paratge Sant Pere del Bosc, s/n, 17310 Lloret de Mar, Girona, Spain

“On the first day we got there, there were 13 people in the pool which were friends with the owner (not guests), drunk and shouting at each other making it very unpleasant. The hotel later did not charge us for one night given this situation. Very unprofessional staff, young with little experience in the sector. In our room there was no hair dryer, wifi and we could hear the washing machine through the AC at 00:30! On a positive note, beautiful location, amazing pool and great food. Overall, I would not give it more than 3 stars.”

“I stayed in this lovely hotel for 2 nights in January, the hotel is lovely and the staff make you feel genuinely welcome. It was my partners birthday and our room was upgraded to one with a sea view and balcony (still warm enough to sit out even in January ) but they also delivered a birthday cake. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed everything about the hotel including breakfast. I travel alot and it is rare to find such hospitality, often it can feel that the staff are looking after the hotel rather than you - but here I felt that I was being looked after.”

“Lovely boutique hotel. Have stayed in three room types, all very nice. Amenities are also good. Staff is excellent. They are always gracious, professional, & attentive. The restaurant has delicious food & the staff is lovely. The hotel staff have been extremely helpful (without hesitation) after I checked out. They found & returned by courier my missing passport & provided insurance documentation as needed. Excellent location for touring about, but the rooms are very quiet. I would definitely stay there again & highly recommend Hotel Casa Sagnier.”

“More a 4 star hotel than 5 stars - expensive for what you get. Mattress and bed sheets not five stars. Suite a bit small, small shower. Attentive welcome service. No overnight top up of coffee pods. Great location but can be noisy overnight on La Rambla street side”
