1 Chome-16-30 Kasuga, Bunkyo City, Tokyo 112-0003, Japan

“An amazing place to learn judo, and so much more. The Kodokan is a great institution with passionate judo teachers who teach first and foremost the proper safety measures, and respect to one another and to Mr Kano Jigoro, the founder. More than just a sport, judo teaches you the proper way to behave and approach challenges in life. It is a privilege to be able to do judo there, and all the Kodokan staff are very warm and kind.”

3 Chome-9-21 Higashishinagawa, Shinagawa City, Tokyo 140-0002, Japan

“Nice place, wide area with many attractions mainly for families with children. Busy on weekends. A skate ring crowded with teenagers during the week afternoon. Here it must be nice during the spring time. Today, a sunny winter afternoon, trees with no leaves give a nice atmosphere too.”

1 Chome-15-25 Kishimachi, Kita City, Tokyo 114-0021, Japan

“北区立名主の滝公園 Kita Ward Nanushinotaki Park In the Edo Era, 畑野孫八 Magohachi Matano, the headman of Oji Village built a waterfall on his property and opened it to the towns people to relieve the summer heat. In the mid-Meiji Era, a local trader, 垣内徳三郎 Tokusaburo Kakiuchi created a mountain stream for the locals. In the Showa Era, a company operated a cafeteria and swimming pool in the garden but it burned during World War II and was in ruins. After the war, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government purchased the site and restored the garden, opening it as a paid park in 1960. It was transferred to Kita Ward and is now a park with no admission charge. There are many rustic paths and staircases as well as bridges around the park. I visited on the day of the nearby Oji Inari Shrine Kite Sale.”

2 Chome-3-14 Nakameguro, Meguro City, Tokyo 153-0061, Japan

“We had a rest in this park while exploring the Meguro area. There were benches around the park, and we picked one that was sheltered with greeneries, which provided a much-needed reprief from the afternoon sun. The park was filled with families spending their Sunday afternoon: Picnicking, playing balls, throwing Frisbees, and just simply running around the park. Date of visit: Sunday, 21st May 2023.”

“Since I went in the afternoon, I bought an afternoon ticket (2,000 yen). One person can take home up to 5 rainbow trout. Is there no limit on take-out for one-day tickets? There were people who took a lot home with them. I rented a rod (300 yen) and bought grape bug bait (600 yen), and they immediately released it into the river, so I caught a few. My friend who went with me didn't catch any fish, so he also caught 10 fish and took home 10 fish. Afterwards, we had the two fish grilled with salt on the spot (200 yen). We had fun until the evening!”
