Top 5 Active Life in Marin County

Cataract Falls
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Cataract Trail, Stinson Beach, CA 94970, United States

“Cataract Trailhead offers an exhilarating hiking experience with its challenging yet manageable terrain. The trail is not overly difficult, but its steep incline and substantial elevation gain provide a good workout for hikers seeking a moderate challenge. The descent, particularly over rocky sections, can be precarious, making hiking sticks a valuable companion for stability. Waterproof shoes are advisable due to the trail's muddy conditions, enhancing the overall trekking experience. The trail is adorned with numerous waterfalls, creating a picturesque and serene atmosphere that nature enthusiasts will appreciate. Starting from the top at Mt. Tamalpais Watershed, the journey unfolds into a waterfall haven, showcasing the beauty of cascading water as you progress down the path. One consideration for visitors is the limited street parking, making it essential to arrive early, as the area tends to fill up quickly. The trail is not a loop but rather an out-and-back adventure, providing the opportunity to retrace your steps and admire the breathtaking scenery in reverse. Covering approximately 4-5 miles from the starting point to the bridge, Cataract Trailhead is a delightful excursion for those who relish the charm of waterfalls and the challenge of a steep yet rewarding trail. Overall, it's a captivating journey through nature that deserves to be experienced firsthand.”

Nike Basketball Camps

1010 B St, San Rafael, CA 94901, United States

“My experience at the Nike Baseball camps has been at the Seattle University campus location. This is the 2nd year my son has participated in the 4 day camp, and he always had tons of fun. He really likes how they split the time between skill stations and multiple scrimmage "games", blending work and fun at the same time. There has always been a good number of coaches there, and my son has always said they were all very cool and helpful. The location is great, being on a college turf field really sets the tone for kids. Pick-up, drop-off were always super easy, but the location here felt safe and secure. Great job Seattle U. coaching team, super fun time, highly recommend.”

“I read a review before heading out about how of your a big chick, don't let it stop you and this have me the courage to go. So thank you for that review. We did 6 miles on the trail. We were heading to Alamere Falls. I has my 9 year old who I can say really hung in there. We ran into a trail guide. He recommended us not go the short cut because of all the poison oak and the fact that it was high tide so we would have only seen it from the top. That's when we decided, maybe next time. It was such a beautiful hike with so many things to see. Hundreds of mushrooms and dozens of banana slugs, cascading vines, eucalyptus trees and pines, lakes and ocean and deer walking down the trail. My recommendations are to start early, we started around noon and got back by 4pm which by then was getting a bit late had we off kept going it would have brought us back by 6 and probably dark by then. I brought a bag with food and water. That was a must, at least some snacks. We ate lunch near bass lake. Shoes that are good in mud. It's rainy season and it was very muddy. Dress in layers. Oh! And don't touch the stinging nettle!!! Google what it looks like.. It ruined my daughter's day. We both accidentally touched it and it was so painful.”

Dipsea Trail Head
4.8
( 8 reviews )

98 Cascade Way, Mill Valley, CA 94941, United States

“I started the Dipsea trail in Mill Valley. It starts with three sets of stairs that take you to the top of the hillside that makes Mill Valley a valley. It’s all stairs, so not technically challenging, but it’s a work out none the less. View from the top is spectacular, and you can then take trails from up there in multiple directions - including Stinson Beach and Muir Woods. I went to Muir Woods, which is always great. And - though it’s definitely a long route, you avoid the parking challenges at Muir Woods if you go there. I’d definitely recommend the trail!”

“It was a beautiful warm relaxing day. The great part about going to China camp is its right in my backyard. You don't have to spend half the day driving to the coast to enjoy a nice day at the beach. It's a great place to bring your kids. Great hiking trails and to have birthday parties 🥳 …”
