Hopeville Pond State Park

929 Hopeville Rd, Griswold, CT 06351, United States

“We went recently for a ladies camping weekend. The park is very nice, it’s a great place for families looking to have some relaxing time away from a busy life. The park is set up to be more like a community base setting. Every one is friendly and is happy to help with whatever questions you have. What I really love about this park was the hiking/biking trails. No matter what path you take for biking or hiking it leads right back into the park. Therefore you can never get lost in the woods. Another thing I did like was where the facility is located. It’s like a light house to guide you back to your street. The website said no pets but it seem as if no one is going by that rule. I don’t mind people having their pets but when you go to the facility and find a dog in the baby changing table, that clearly violates the rule. I can’t imagine being a parent and being my child to use the facility and lay the child in the same area someone had their dog laying. Other than that it’s a great place to go camping.”

Odetah Camping Resort
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 03:00 PM

38 Bozrah St Ext #1300, Bozrah, CT 06334, United States

“Easily the best family camping resort in CT. My family of 6 have done tent camping on water with electric sites here for the past 4 years. Knowing the type of site and the location within the campground along with having basic courtesy for following the guidelines is important to having a great time. Between the lake beach, Oasis restaurant, mini golf, ice cream shop, fishing, and the impressively upgraded pool/hot tub area; there is plenty to do for the whole family without having to leave the site. The themed events and Saturday night bands adds even more fun to a weekend stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. There also a lot of great CT museums, aquariums, vineyards, breweries, hiking trails, and beaches within a short drive. We’ll continue coming back here every year.”

Lake Of Isles

Open until 04:00 PM

1 Clubhouse Dr, North Stonington, CT 06359, United States

“Beside the Bethpage Black, I think this golf course is arguably the best public in the tristate area. The course is maintained beautifully. The course layout is challenging and beautiful. The view is, in some holes, breathtakingly picturesque. The green fee is rather steep, but it is totally justified.”

Hidden Acres Family Campground
4.7
( 8 reviews )

47 River Rd, Preston, CT 06365, United States

“I camped at Hidden Acres on the last night of a 12-day solo bike tour in August 2023 as I made my way back toward NYC. I couldn't have better things to say about the experience. They were so accommodating (especially relative to other campsites in the area that I called), and even kept the office open a few minutes past closing to welcome me and help me get situated. The campsite was beautiful and I camped right along the river, so fell asleep to the tranquil sounds of the slow-moving water. Would absolutely revisit and recommend!”

Gardner Lake State Park
4.3
( 16 reviews )

208 Old Colchester Rd, Salem, CT 06420, United States

“People make a huge mess when they come there. Luckily the state has people who clean it well. No lifeguard. People drinking and smoking pot. You definitely need to watch your kid closely. Sand mixed with rocks and patches of dirt and grass. Outhouses... no real restrooms or changing areas. Water is pretty clear. Gets crowded but not to bad.”

Their exciting tracks are perfect for a day out with family or friends. Prior to your ride, a waiver must be signed, and the parents of minors must fill it out.
