“This park is awesome and buzzing every weekend. It has a rose garden, some trees and grass areas, play grounds and plenty of sport fields. It is also a well known spot where Pokémon players meet every Wednesday evening or on special weekend events. There are also several events and parties organized by the town like pub in the park. A must see are the light shows around Christmas and New years.”

1701 Coyote Point Dr, San Mateo, CA 94401, United States
“Great place for so many reasons. Beaches, bathrooms, playgrounds, CuriOddysey, boats, walking trails, launches for water activities like stand up paddle boarding, large grassy area for running, flat paved areas good for kids learn to ride bikes, picnic areas with grills that you can reserve, parking, informational signs about history and climate change. Entry is six dollars per car. If you get the San Mateo County Parks Pass you can visit any time and never pay to enter! Well worth it! Magic Mountain Playground - large double playground - part for older kids, part for younger kids. All fenced and gated so it's easier to manage littles who like to run. There is a gun range in the area so you sometimes here the gun practice which can be jarring, annoying, or triggering for some. Be aware that there is poison oak by the trails in the Eucalyptus Grove. Beaches are swim at your own risk - no lifeguard. Coyote Point is close to the airport - so you can watch planes fly in and out of SFO. There is a second playground close to CuriOddysey. Dogs are okay on leashes - EXCEPT - where marked "no dogs." Please respect rules regarding dogs! And pick up poop. Please don't encourage kids to have water balloon fights with those little balloons - they are hard to pick and worsen the micro-plastic problem in soil and sea - not good for people or planet! CuriOddysey is a WONDERFUL place - it has its own entry fee. Worth a family visit, for sure. Good for all ages to learn about enjoy science and nature. Mostly non-native plants - such as eucalyptus - but some drought resistant and native California plants have been put in. This is a wonderful place to spend time in - solo or with friends or family or a community group. Respect, care for, and enjoy this wonderful place.”

“Very nice park with an easy trail. The trail has some gradient and can be tricky during winter when it rains. But otherwise overall a good small hike. The park has a play structure for toddlers. Parking is on the street and can be challenging during busy time on the weekends. The park and trail has clean restrooms.”

1600 Marsh Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025, United States
“Hidden gem with a great view of the bay. Everything is green and blooming with all the rain lately. The main (Spirit) trail has a poem with rock formations laid out along the way to match the poem. There are lots of trails across and around the whole park. There are a few "campers" here, but everyone seemed pretty peaceful. Dog friendly trails but beware of skunks. Only one restroom area was not kept well.”

9500 Pescadero Creek Rd, Loma Mar, CA 94021, United States
“A little gem tucked away from the crowded Bay Area. A bit of a drive. Redwoods are always majestic. Pescadero creek is nicely tucked in and looks beautiful here too. A lot of trails and a lot of them are social trails. Many benches to take a seat and enjoy nature. There is the tallest tree, not super impressive but noticeable. Day use and overnight camping areas have all the facilities you would expect. Looks a little underfunded, it's a county park after all. Please support your local parks!”
