“Great food, great service, nice ambience. I visited this place for my birthday dinner and was completely worth the visit! The restaurant offers a lot of traditional Mediterranean classics but they have been taken up by a notch (or two). The food is simply brilliant and the staff is quite warm and welcoming. The food menu maybe limiting for some, but the quality of the dishes more than makes up for it. I would highly recommend the coal fired mushroom hummus. They also have a very extensive wine list. The restaurant also provides you with a small "dictionary" which provides you details of some ingredients that you might not be familiar with and I found this to be a very nice touch. The ambience is quite nice, it isnt super loud as some of the other restaurants I have been to in the DC area, which I find appealing. Would love to visit again.”

“I had dinner recently with colleagues at Circa in the Navy Yard area of Washington, D.C. I showed up initially without a reservation around 7:00 PM and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. First tip: when visiting this restaurant, get a reservation in advance. I met my colleagues unexpectedly (who did have a reservation) and we ate together at a booth. I had already been served at a single table, but the staff had no issue with moving my place setting. I appreciated their support. I had ordered the salmon salad along with a pretzel loaf, which is the restaurant’s offering for a side order of bread. The salmon was cooked to a medium temperature as per my request and the rest of the salad was excellent. The salad had mixed greens, peewee potatoes, balsamic onions, and goat cheese. All very yummy. For dessert we shared a small bourbon bread pudding which was truly rich tasty and delicious. The service was very good, and the staff were very helpful when I arrived without a reservation, so kudos to them I would give this restaurant four out of five stars. It’s someplace I’ll return to for a fresh tasty meal the next time I’m in D.C.”

“The Palm is one of my most favorite restaurants in Washington, DC. The service is impeccable. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is one of the most enjoyable appetizers. While I go for the steaks, the also do a mean chicken parm. Drinks are strong (which I appreciate). The donuts are a delicious dessert. The food is great, service is amazing, and as an added bonus you typically see one or more famous (or infamous) guest each visit. Highly recommend!”

Right Proper Brewing Company

“More of a trendy themed brewery, visited for a hour or so, beer was good. DJ was playing some tracks. Food was pretty good. It was quiet when we visited, had plenty of seats mid afternoon on Saturday. Staff were attentive. There were some smaller children with their parents so seems to be pretty kid friendly. Worth a trip if in the area to try some jars.”

“Based on good reviews we made a reservation during our stay in Washington DC. We ordered bruschetta en fried mozzarella as appetizer! Both appetizers were excellent. As main plate we ordered a spaghetti carbonara, a pasta seafood and a pasta calamares. The three plates were excellent. A few downsizes: no table clothes and a waiter who was not so polite and distant.”

Rare Steakhouse And Tavern

1595 I St NW, Washington, DC 20006, United States

“Nestled in the heart of Washington DC between George Washington University and the White House, located on I Street NW, Rare Steakhouse delivers an eye-catching dining experience that appeals to the palate and the senses. We visited here to do a different type of family get together. Stepping into its refined ambiance, guests are greeted by a concierge and muted lighting blended with wood-finished decor. The menu at Rare Steakhouse isn't a expansive as other well-known, fine dining steakhouses. The menu fare is pretty standard and the actual plating of the food is visually appealing. The service provided by Francisco during our visit was almost impeccable. The menu is varied enough to accommodate any dietary preferences including those who are pescatarian or plant-based. Of the items we ate, the Caesar Salad, Lobster Bisque and dinner rolls were of this place's "greatest hits". The other items were so so and not very noteworthy except for the obvious which are the steaks. The standout to me personally was the charred octopus which was served extremely well. The meat was tender, well seasoned and complemented with great garnishments. This is a place that we enjoyed for the ambiance and the food was pretty good, yet not as excellent as we hoped.”

“We have now been twice, once in the dinning room and most recently for the tasting menu. If you only eat at one restaurant in DC I highly recommend Gravitas. The food was phenomenal, absolutely out of this world spectacular. Chef Matt Baker put together a menu that really stood out in my mind for its creativity, flavor, and presentation! We also did the wine pairing and I still talk about how amazing it was today. The staff as a whole was incredibly kind, welcoming, and knowledgeable. All in all 10/10 highly recommend”
