“My husband took me for my birthday dinner on our weekend getaway from NYC. He tried everything he could before our arrival to make it special , noting it was a birthday, explaining we were coming in from NYC and requesting if possible to get a table with a view, now I have been a GM of Restaurants in NYC for 20 years and I realize not all requests can be accommodated, but The Red Inn went out of its way to not accommodate any requests all night long . Horrible table slammed against a wall in a hallway space, and slow inattentive service. When we asked if we could substitute something based on an allergy we were told no substitutions, okay fine can it just be left off then . to which, with a huff, the server said yes … of course when it comes to the table it’s not correct and when we stopped the server , instead of taking it away and correcting it he simply said I ordered it without it and walked away …. Everything else just went downhill from there and ruined what should have been a lovely evening…. Yes the manager eventually did the right thing, after I went to speak to him, he comped the meal and the server came with a dessert which I couldn’t eat because of a nut allergy and said … it’s a full comp and we never saw him again …. I have never really been a fan of The Red Inn in the past but I understand sometimes it’s just and off night … but this might be one of the worse fining experiences I have had while in vacation anywhere .”

My husband got the lobster Benedict and it was definitely good, but not outstanding like the pancakes. Wait staff was friendly and helpful! “My friend and I have been to Kate’s dozens of times since last year because we absolutely love the lobster roll and crabmeat roll and the onion rings here are our favorite on the cape. Yesterday when we went for dinner, we started are our order first by saying mozzarella sticks and the cashier asked impatiently and rudely, “Anything else?” It caught me off guard as I had a good 6 other items to order and was not expecting such impolite service. We continued to order and I wanted to make sure that I can sub the fries that come with the rolls for curly fries, which I have done many times in the past. The cashier told us that the rolls don’t come with fries. Mind you we ordered the lobster roll, crabmeat roll, and tuna roll. ALL of which are in the rolls section of the menu that says “All served with fries.” My friend and I were confused and before I could say anything the cashier kept moving her head back inside so she couldn’t hear me. Before we paid, I politely got her attention to ask if this was a new policy because their menu says they come with fries and she very rudely responded saying, “None of the rolls have ever come with fries.” And then she disappeared behind the window again. My friend and I, incredibly confused at the service we just received, paid and walked to the other side trying to process what just happened. I pulled up pictures from the last time I was at kate’s to make sure I wasn’t losing my mind to see if i had fries with my rolls, and guess what…they did come with my rolls. After getting our number called, I opened our containers at the pick up station to see that my rolls did come with fries. I called over the employee working at the pick up station to explain the situation that had happened with the cashier and that I would have subbed out the fries if I wasn’t misinformed instead of ordering curly fries separately. She clarified that certain rolls don’t come with fries but the ones that I ordered do. I’m not sure what was up with the cashier, but my friend and I did not appreciate the rude and impolite service, the misinformation and the gaslighting.”

“First time there on 12/30/23.Pub/ sports bar atmosphere. We were a group of 7 family members. Went early around 5 to ensure little to no wait, which worked out perfectly. No wait at all. Friendly greeting. At first waitress was not very pleasant, only answered in "no" or "yes" responses. However, became more personable as the evening went on. I had the Buddha Bowl! EXCELLENT!! Ate my fill and still had leftovers. Don't let the label "appetizer" fool ya! My husband had the burger and completely finished it, which is usually never the case!! All of us loved our meals and are eager to return!!”

“Good food. Nice place. They have a rather limited menu of around six choices. I can’t say that I loved the food but it was good enough. I did like the chocolate desert. Oh and I do have to say that they have an extensive selection of whisky and (amazingly) gin. But I have to say that $36 for a nip of Yellow Spot is (pretty) outrageous. Same price (and same comment) for some of their single malt selections. They don’t take reservations. Good enough if you are in the area”

“Kettle ho is nestled in downtown Cotuit. Seafood, burgers. We got fried scallops and a Bleu burger. Both dishes arrived piping hot. The fried onion rings and scallops were done in fresh oil and served right out of the fryer. The place was pretty busy for a Sunday night in October, on the cape. I recommend you go see why. You won't be disappointed”
