“I stumbled across this place with my kids in tow a few days ago. We had walked all the way from little burke street past many food places just trying to find “normal food” not some wanky stacked pretentious ego food. OMG we were so happy. Bacon and eggs on toast, and the smallest one had a ham cheese toasty. At first the owner, who I found out 3 visits later was called “Sal”, got the milkshake order wrong (chocolate instead of vanilla). I told my kids not to worry chocolate was good too and they would have drank it, but Sal must have seen the disappointment in their faces and was insistent that he make the correct ones. He left the chocolate one free of charge which I drank The meal was superb and reasonably costed. Then I noticed the waitress departing. I asked him if he was closing up and he was (They close over lunch since covid). But he insisted we stay and enjoy, without rushing as they had to clean up anyway. Excellent customer service. We returned that night for dinner (bringing the wife this time) and the kids had burgers and chips that were also excellent, and my wife had the carbonara with added chicken. I had the scotch steak. All perfect. The following day, the kids insisted they wanted to go back to the nice man’s restraunt with the good food. So we are 3 meals in a row there. Its quite a long walk for the two young kids (and this aging body) but everyone is willing to make the track.”

“The buffet is a treat yourself moment. A variety of dishes from seafood , eastern dishes and western fare. As vegetarians we did not starve and happy with choices esp the veg dumplings. Everything fresh and at times you can taste the love though desserts tended to be just sweet and blended into one. Sadly only water is included in the meal and everything else attracts a cost, you'd think tea and coffee could be included. Over all I think meat eaters esp sea food lovers will get the better deal for us the price could grab us a few meals else where and a drink or two. Service excellent and the venue clean and fairly lovely in the hotels foyer.”

“I highly recommend this place for a real Swiss food experience. It's an older building with lots of wood. We loved the cheese fondue. Kettle and dishes all looked old fashioned. The wiener schnitzel was the best I've ever had. I definitely recommend the potatoes they're crispy fresh hash browns with Swiss cheese inside. I didn't have any cheese curds i saw them, and they looked big and amazing. The only downside is it's a small place and if it's full, it's kind of loud. My friend and I felt like old ladies, "What did you say? Can you repeat that?" 😆”
