“The restaurant itself is very appealing. Parking can be tricky, I was lucky to find a spot because someone was leaving. Other than that it’s small and tight. Service was good. They were very attentive. We did half and half oysters. Half …”

Walk-on's Sports Bistreaux - Katy Restaurant
4.5
( 16 reviews ) $$

23213 Grand Cir Blvd, Katy, TX 77449, United States

“Service is good and food is below average for a sports restaurant. Food came fast and server was very friendly. The food is average and maybe a bit better than fast food chain but not close to 4 stars. Prices are above average for the quality of food and atmosphere. Restaurant was extremely warm inside which mean either AC was down or simply they turned it around 77 while it was 98 outside. Overall, good to try it once but definitely not going to do it again.”

Squable

632 W 19th St, Houston, TX 77008, United States

“We really enjoyed our visit at Squable on a Saturday late afternoon at the bar. We ordered glasses of wine and wanted some small plates to snack on while we drink. Ended up starting with the biscuits which are huge and the jam was so delicious. After we saw a server leave the kitchen with a plate of towered tater tots we quickly asked our bartender to put in an order of those for us as well. These were tater tots topped with caviar, hollandaise, and salmon roe. Definitely the best plate of tater tots I’ve ever seen and tasted. We ended our visit with a delicious cold crab roll with brown butter aioli. We will be coming back to try more from their menu!”

Trez Bistro & Wine Bar

920 Studemont St Suite #150, Houston, TX 77007, United States

“I visited Trez Wine Bar on the recommendation of a friend who joined me for the evening. It was my first time at this establishment, and my friend had praised the ambiance. Upon arrival, the place was dimly lit, and a DJ was playing music, setting the mood. My friend had already ordered gumbo before my arrival, and we decided to take advantage of their happy hour specials. I opted for the Brussels sprouts and a side salad, ordering two servings of each, all of which turned out to be delicious. I chose not to have any meat in my order. While the gumbo was good, it's worth noting that they don't include pork in their recipe. The owner, who also served as our bartender and hostess, came to take our order. However, the DJ's loud music made it difficult for us to hear each other. I have some hearing impairment on my right side, and my friend was seated on my right, making it a challenge to carry on a conversation. We politely asked the owner if we could move away from the speakers to reduce the noise, but unfortunately, it didn't make much of a difference. The restaurant had reserved plaques on some tables, but they remained unoccupied throughout our two-hour stay. Despite the excessive music volume, I did appreciate the music selection. The small size of the venue amplified the loudness of the music, which was my only major concern. Nevertheless, I would consider returning to Trez Wine Bar, although I was slightly irked by the automatic 20% gratuity added to the bill, which seems to be a common practice in Houston. It would be helpful if they informed customers about this upfront to avoid double-tipping. Nonetheless, the brussels sprouts and salad were so delightful that I'm looking forward to another visit.”

Good Times Marina

11906 7th 1/2 St, Houston, TX 77044, United States

“I’m giving it five stars across the board. Not because it’s a five star restaurant and yes it’s way back in the sticks and yes, the decor is hummm “Marina Eclectic” maybe they’re not the fastest servers in the world but you can’t say the food isn’t good because I’ve eaten there twice and the food tasted homemade, fresh and for that kind of price a bargain. And because both times I’ve been in there there’s a line to the door to place an order. They do actually cook back there. It ain’t for everybody but it’s five stars for me.”

“The burger 🍔 I ordered was hot and fresh. The bun was toasted and hot. There was evenly spread dressing on the top and bottom bun. The fries were also hot and fresh. I plan on going back with my husband. Also a very clean restaurant.”

“Literally the best pizza in Houston. And I don't say that lightly! Had the cacio e pepe and about died with how good it was. Be sure to get the trio of sauces too! Drinks were also incredible. Bartender Hector was extremely knowledgeable and talented.”

“The girls and I had a great time here! The restaurant was beautiful along with the decor they have up for Christmas. There was a gentleman singing and playing the guitar while we ate- he was fantastic. They have valet out front for a fee if you don’t want to deal with the parking garage. The $4 mimosas were just what we needed, mostly champagne and little juice. We were a total of 8 women and not one complained about their food. Everything was cooked to perfection! I can’t wait to go in the future and try the dinner menu.”

Lazy Oaks Beer Garden

10158 Long Point Rd, Houston, TX 77043, United States

“They were out of more interesting draft brews and no flights so not too much for us here (we are a bit jaded I guess). The service was also a bit slow and not terribly friendly. The atmosphere is definitely a “converted 7-11” vibe so visiting in the day time doesn’t do the place any favors. That said we liked the pretzel and it does look like the burger special might be worth a try.”

Midnite Slice

“I really liked the atmosphere of this place and the service was outstanding! They have games that you can play while you wait on your food. Unfortunately, I just wasn’t that impressed by the food here it was lacking salt and other seasonings that could have made it better. They did bring some complimentary balloon bread pieces out that was nice. I think we would give this place another chance to see if the food could be better next time just because the service was so good!”

Relish Restaurant & Bar

“I made a reservation online for 3 outside patio; and when I got to the restaurant, they told me that they couldn't reserve spaces on the patio. The hostess was extremely rude and it was very upsetting since we had planned this lunch spot and reserved a space online. After five minutes of having a disagreement, they happen to find a table in the corner on the side patio, which was the only table available. It's not the main patio... I would have given the restaurant a five star if I had a more pleasant experience with the hostess and seating that I had reserved online and drove over 30 minutes to be at this restaurant with my girlfriends. OK, so about the food. The tomato soup was really good but the soup stains your face. If you are doing a business meeting or on a date, I definitely would not order soup because it will stain your face and lips. The watermelon salad I was so excited about, but they barely had any feta in it Or watermelon; it was like you were just eating arugula. The burger was decent. And the fries were good.”

Underground Hall

“Some of our group chose to sleep in late which resulting in movement around 2pm. The original places we had in mind were going to be closed by arrival or had a long wait. Underground Hall to the rescue! I love places like this because everyone's tastebuds can be satisfied. There were champagne shots, churros, fried chicken sandwich, tacos, and leches'. There was also a pizza and burger spot. I would consider this a hidden gem.”

“Absolutely fantastic Cajun/Soul food restaurant in Houston!! Delicious food and drink and service par excellence! We had the BEST Brussels sprouts side as an appetizer and then tried several dishes to share. I loved my chicken Alfredo. My wife raved over her salmon. My daughter loved "Da Dirty Rice"! Definitely give this place a try on their Sunday brunch or a special night out with loved ones. I will be back again and again! I definitely want to try the "Yard Bird" next!”

Spindletop

Hyatt Regency Houston, 1200 Louisiana St, Houston, TX 77002, United States

“The food, drinks, and service were impeccable (except for hostess who seemed to be unhappy with her job) would’ve received 5 stars if they were more accommodating with the seating. We made a reservation in advanced & didn’t know you had to specify in order to sit by the window and enjoy the view. The hostess told us that the seating would be full so we were not allowed to sit there. Unfortunately that was not the case at all, place was so empty I felt that I had to whisper as to not be too loud. If they would’ve sat us by the view we would’ve stayed double the time and spent double the money.”

“We always get it to go so all I can review on is food itself. We always get 2 chickens with rice, beans, and tortillas. The food is decently warm but the chicken could be cooked a bit more. We have gotten sick a few times after eating here and we think its because the chicken is still red and pink slightly. The taste is good and the price as well, so we still get it but now we put the chicken in the oven for an extra 20 min. Comes out perfect 👌🏼”

“My grandson and I visited here yesterday for brunch for the first time. You place your order at the counter and then it’s brought out to your table. I had the fried chicken wings and waffles. The chicken was fried to perfection, it just needed more seasoning. The waffles were just okay. My grandson ordered the French toast and a side of bacon and egg. After two bites of the French toast he pushed it away and said it wasn’t very good. I took a bite and it was like a sponge. The more I chewed the tougher it seemed to get. I don’t know what type of bread it was but they were pretty awful. The bacon was overcooked to my taste. He did enjoy the eggs. Now I understand why they collect the tip first.”
