“CAHS is very professional and they love their animals there. The building is clean and neat. Their website is up to date. I found my favorite handsome boy Hans on their website and decided to take him back. Unfortunately, Hans just transferred there from another organization on Wednesday. So they are not sure the characteristics of him. The good thing is that me and my boyfriend are able to play with Hans for 1 hr. No one rush us. Hans is nervous due to continuing moving but he is wild. He is definitely the handsome guy!! The people there are willing to help! They go over all documents with me, Hans is a healthy boy. They offered some coupons and list of hospitals, which is so sweet!! They told me he might hide somewhere for few days, that totally correct. Right now, Hans is much comfortable in my room, he plays around and seating in his box. I would definitely recommend everyone check their website and meet your favorite!”

“We adopted our dog, a Shepherd mix on August 1. We love our dog,. She was quite nervous but now, after 4 months she knows that she has a home. KCAS did a very good job with explaining what we might expect and a time frame necessary to her adjustment. We take walks every day and practice obedience during our walks. I so appreciate that KCAS provides shelter and care for so many homeless animals.”

“They need your help. It's an awesome place to get your forever pet. They have cats and dogs, and a thrift store with beautiful and breath-taking antiques. They have tons of stuff in there, and that money all goes to the animals. You can volunteer, donate, and even visit and interact with the animals. Go and give your love to the animals in the community. Be part of Amazing Grace.”

“Years ago animal control came to my neighbor's house took two of their dogs out of a pen in the backyard they left a card at the door and when the homeowners came they said $300 a dog to get your dogs back. They didn't speak English very well at that time I told them to fight it they wouldn't they didn't want no trouble they didn't have the $300 so they couldn't get their dogs back I told them to call and ask why? When they call the number on the card to ask why they were told the dog bit the mailman. My family are good friends with the mailman so I asked the mailman if he was okay. He informed me he was not bitten nor was a substitute mailman bitten he also informed me if he was bitten by a dog animal control would not get $300 of dog to return the dog he would be injured and there would be a lawsuit and an amount would be decided by a judge. I have had to deal with animal control myself now I love my neighbors they're amazing but I blame them for not fighting the Injustice because now they think they're some type of gang in my neighborhood they are currently trying to stop me from following my doctor's orders for a service animal and one particular publicly requested my medical records which is against HIPAA laws however he's informed me that animal control is over state and federal laws. They take advantage of my neighborhood because there are a lot of immigrants here and it's in an impoverished area in Detroit so they bully us and do whatever they want. He was at my house for 5 days straight I had to call animal control and tell them if they did not get him off of my property I would charge him rent and I would press stocking charges against him. I'm not sure what to do I have a long history of caring for animals there are some national organizations for animal welfare that I have been working with for most of my life since I was a kid. I have sheltered many animals cats and dogs for different non-profit organizations. They have decided to just throw everything at me and see what sticks. They are able to operate outside of the law because somehow I haven't even had a court date yet but I have a warrant for failure to vaccinate my dogs when my dogs are vaccinated. This warrant has caused me to lose my job. There are staff members who are aware of the corruption that goes on at animal control they are all about control they have no care or concern for the people or the animals in the city of Detroit you can Google them and see how many times nonprofit organizations have gone against them how many times their own staff members have left because of the cruelty they do to animals yet they come to my house when I have dogs that are 18 and 20 years old been to vets faithfully and my dogs have insurance even if I don't have insurance my dogs do. My dogs have had insurance for years once they first came out with it. It's sad that they can come and say your dogs don't have shots when your vet says your dogs do have shots. It said that they can then say whatever they want about you even though it's not true and there's nothing you can do about it how they put a warrant for failure to vaccinate on me before I even went to court because I still haven't gone to court yet it's very interesting. How they can just look at my dogs and tell if they have a vaccination or not very interesting. How they can demand my medical records when I should be protected by HIPAA laws very interesting. How the mayor and the political parties can let them run like this very interesting. I believe in God and we will get trials and tests. I just think it's disgusting how they treat animals I think it's disgusting that they blame the people of Detroit who are mostly good people trying their best to raise their families and feed their children. I took in my two nieces their mother died due to covid and one is down syndrome and one is autistic I have one full time and I have one part time. They were very traumatized by this one particular animal control. I have lived in other cities and I have worked with animal control.”

“We adopted Daffodil from the Livingston location on July 1, 2021 Was told she was 6months with one owner that just didn’t have time for her. She has 2 micro chips and we had no idea why. Both are not from the humane society. We had her for a month and had to return her. Now they are saying she is 5 months. Be aware that this location is lying.”

“I got my cat Oreo from here a week ago! She's so sweet. All of the volunteers at this adoption center are so nice! You can really tell how much they care about these animals. The adoption counselor Anita was especially helpful during the process for myself. She offered me lots of valuable information and helped match-make me with the perfect little cuddle bug that I've been dreaming of. Also, since the center is non-profit, the adoption fees were not very high, despite Oreo being up-to-date on shots and spayed.”

“We got our Pitty with the humane society 2 yrs ago. We had great service. We fostered her first to make sure she got along with our dog. She had health issues and they paid for vet bills. They paid for her to be fixed. We had some continued health issues after adoption with her ears and skin and a woman had given me her personal # to help me through the issues. We found out she was partially deaf. She is such a beautiful and kind pup. We love her!”
