“We had the most delicious dinner here on Wednesday. Ivan took great care of us and was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Everything we tried was very good and showcased excellent Croatian food and drink. We liked it so much that we booked a table for another night so we could try more of the menu! Edited to add: second visit was just as good, we had a lovely table, and excellent service from Ivan again who is efficient and friendly and speaks excellent English. Between us we've had the sea bass, spaghetti with clams, slow cooked lamb, tuna steak, pasta with shrimp and clams, beefsteak tomato salad, and shrimp risotto, and all have been really tasty.”

“The hotel is nice in many ways but imo has serious flaws too. It is a higher quality than a typical 3-star hotel but they do charge higher as well, so a certain level of services is expected. Good points: Clean rooms, very friendly staff, somewhat small but nice pool. The food is simple but rather good and there’s plenty of choice for breakfast and for dinner. We had dinners included and were happy with that choice. Odd things: A mat glass bathroom door that provides very limited privacy and virtually no sound isolation is a very... interesting choice. So be sure you’re very close with whomever you’re staying there :) Flaws: Worst sunbed wars I’ve ever witnessed. Last of the loungers on the lawn with pine trees get reserved as early as 7:30 a.m. For sunbeds around the pool there’s a bit more time as there are more of those. There are signs saying that reserving is not allowed but the staff doesn’t bother to do anything in this regard, so the signs are pretty worthless. The hotel is located in a very crowded area with an almost constant flow of people from the parking lot, through the hotel area, to the beach. The beach is rather small, so part of the crowd stays on the hotel’s lawn despite the signs that it’s guests only. Again, the staff is supposed to be watching for that but in reality none of them cares (I did complain twice - it didn’t change anything), so the lawn becomes full pretty fast. This is really a shame. I understand that the beach is public but private areas should remain private and it’s the hotel’s job to ensure that. Overall could be a nice place but there is just not enough comfort for the price.”

“We had such a lovely breakfast here! With a party of 6 we could sit inside and we ordered a variation of breakfast options which we shared. We had some croissants, baguettes, fresh fruits, an assortment of sweets and one of us had the eggs royal which was completely homemade, she loved it! Speaking of which, it looks like all or most of the things here are freshly made, a big plus! Great for breakfast and I would probably also say for lunch and dinner!”

“We went there for dinner, and we had a wonderful evening. The service was on point and very welcoming (we got there without a reservation in the first place, and they offered us a table for an hour later). The restaurant is located in the back yard, and it couldn't be more charming. It was definitely worth the wait, and we had some delicious food there. We ordered Ratatouille and homemade Pasta and it was the best Pasta I had in a long time!”

Most of the campsites close by are very small and have awful small places while this one is super big and feels like a nature camp spot”

“I'll be talking about the public beach near this amazing looking hotel. Very quite area. A bit wavy sea that i find beautiful. There is a restaurant near with affordable prices. All in all for me one of the best beaches on Makarska riviera. The only thing is that there is no shadow at all so if you tend to get sunburns avoid it or bring sunbrella 😁”

“This place is nice we didn’t stay to far from the beach. They had a lot of beaches. Some pools. They left us a free welcoming plate of fruit and water bottle. What upsets me is that we paid a pet fee and it says pets aloud but for some reason we couldn’t use the new pool bc we had our dog with us which he wasn’t going to jump in the pool! It’s ridiculous! Most places aren’t dog friendly! Another thing i didn’t like was pools are dirty & rusty! They should hire someone to clean them! another thing is we paid for breakfast all the days we stayed and breakfast was the same everyday which they can improve and change it up! Another thing is the amount we paid for “renovated house” we came across ants inside! they should have some free activities for kids to do not just beach and pools! Their was couple pools beaches we couldn’t use! Another thing is SERVICE was BAD they didn’t clean our house and bring us towels toilet paper soap or anything! not even to take our trash out! Their excuse was bc we had our pet sign up! Which was a lie bc I’m calling from the hotel to ask them if anyone was coming to bring towels! Some lady rudely picked up and said idk someone will be their! This was around 5ishPM on Saturday 15th than I called agin from the hotel around 7pm that no one came and we are still waiting for towels and stuff! Some guy picked up the phone and said someone will be their right away called agin around 8ish/9 pm we gave up left to the store bought the stuff our Selfs! We called the next day Sunday 16th asking for service and towels and that we wanted to talk to the manager and they avoided me from doing that and told me all these lies about my dog and that someone will come! They showed up left the the towels and took the trash! They didn’t even bother to do cleaning or change our sheets! We stayed 4 days in a half and they didn’t change our sheets once but did bring us towels expect that one day How disappointing! I wouldn’t pay so much for this type of service! I would recommend finding another villa somewhere els”

“My husband and I stayed there with our baby boxer dog Pedro. We had a wonderful stay. The staff was the best, and they were very nice to us and to Pedro. They treated us like home. I would like to specifically mention Luka, who was the best and made our stay even better. Also Ksenija was very nice to us. We will miss both of them. Also, Nikola and Aleksa from the bar and the restaurant and coffee lounge. The rooms were very clean, the house keeper made our room every day. The location is perfect, close to several beaches and also close to the dog beach and the promenade. Rooms were big enough, and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and dinner buffet was also good. There was something for everyone. Ice cream from the buffet was the best! Would definitely come back. I would totally recommend.”

“The Hotel Odisej is in a stunning location. Rooms are basic but clean, with enormous beds which are surprisingly comfortable. As a base to explore the Mljet National Park it is superb and you can be at the small lake in 10-15 minutes. Staff are fine and breakfast is really pretty good. Evening meals lack variety, however, and not everything is cooked well, especially vegetables which are often soggy and overdone. If you like roast meats you will do OK. I recommend trying their own pizzeria a couple of nights as it is great and excellent value. The beach bar is also fun.”
