“The chalet is beautiful and stunning. I got the single room with Mountain View. I didn’t bother with the jacuzzi even though the staff were offering my an good price for upgrade. The food here is so good and the place is cozy. I cannot recommend this more! The staff here are the best! They went to lengths to make my stay perfect! I had left my luggage and went for a hike. Unfortunately someone had forgotten and had locked it away and left. One lovely staff member drove me to the train station so I can catch my train.”

“We are loving this place! Great price, perfect location 3 minutes from the station in a quiet area. Lovely staff. The jacuzzi is a real treat, available all day (book your turn). We got lots of visiting information, and early check-in with no extra fee. They've agreed to let us use the jacuzzi again after we check out. The memory foam beds are wonderful (floppy pillows, though). The breakfast station is generous, and the lounge is so cute. Our room is newly renovated and the manager was wonderful! We are bringing home balsamic from the garden produce. Thanks again for everything.”

“My husband and I spent 4 nights here in early September while visiting the Swiss Alps. We really enjoyed our stay and thought the staff and amenities all exceeded our expectations. The hotel is situated up a large hill approximately 3 minutes walk from Grindelwald first. We pushed our luggage up the hill but alternatively could have contacted the hotel for a van. I would say that it could be difficult for a person with mobility issues to reach this hotel day in and day out given the large hill/staircase. The view from our room was amazing and it was a feat to wake up to daily. The breakfast buffet is one of the best ones we had in Switzerland and filled us up prior to our hiking trips. The mini bar was free and refilled by housekeeping. The mattress was slightly on the firm side which is how we like it. We had utilized the spa that was free for guests and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and saunas. We were able to get time slots easily in the morning for later on in the day. We also had deep tissue massage and facial done which was very relaxing. The therapists were friendly and accommodated our needs. Highly recommended!”

“It's definitely overpriced... No hostel should cost the same as an Ibis... but this hostel has style and what's provided is high quality. The large courtyard and common areas are always lively, but only until curfew. The private double rooms with ensuite are minimalist to the extreme (no hairdryer, no soap, strip your own beds, too few power outlets), but well built and with a great view of the riverside park. Solid concrete walls make the rooms very well sound insulated. The location is easily the main selling point of this hostel, and probably how they can get away with such high rates. All of central Bern is an easy 10 minute stroll from here. The included breakfast includes a wide selection of all the standard continental options (5x cheeses, 5x pork cold cuts, bircher, etc) in high quality. Lactose-free milk was available on request.”
