“Loved my stay here. This was my first ever time staying in a hostel, and it was exactly what I needed. Friendly employees, good spaces to study/work, good security, great food! I only had one roommate in my 6 person dorm, so that was fine but I can't speak for the full experience of all travelers. The buildings seem very historic and fit neatly into the landscape of NW Portland. I feel very happy now knowing that I have a cheap place to stay and feel welcome if I'm ever back in Portland again.”

“So many special details at this hotel! It's a very sweet place. Everything in Seaside is walkable, and they've got nice bikes too. We took advantage of the hot tub and fire pits, it's not fancy but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast was fairly generous and the service is warm and attentive, more I can say than most places in Oregon. I loved the free DVD library, really cute.”

“The hotel was perfect for our one night stay. Be mindful of the El Royale rooms. When they say two or three travelers, no matter what you get one bed but it’s a very large bed if you don’t mind three people in one bed. Perfect for a couple traveling with a younger child. Not perfect if you are traveling with a teenager. They were able to accommodate us at the El Royale Gardens, which is on the other side of this facility with spacious and clean rooms and two queen beds. The room had two closets, a large bathroom, a medium size fridge, blow dryer, and a microwave and coffee machine. The parking is right next to the rooms that you are in so that is the best part if you are worried about the area. Walking distance to Universal. Booked with credit cards but For some reason any upgrades needed to be made with cash.”

Would definitely stay here again when I travel through OR. Several restaurant options within 1-2 blocks and definitely safe and quiet area. “Great for passing through town! A little loud, but it's a college campus, so we expected it. But it seemed overly crowded and noise went long into the night. 4 stars because the TV just did not work at all, and it was stuck on the (pretty lovely actually) local ad and hotel channel. We were only there for one night at it was already late. But we had paid for a nice room, and having no TV, plus no option to plug in a game system or chromecast (the TV is bricked for hotel use only) really sucked. And we wanted to check out the local thrift shop, but I guess the owner is super racist?? It made me very wary of the other local businesses and made me want to leave immediately. Nice looking area... not sure about the folks. Hopefully the young college kids will eventually stamp out the racism in town.”

“Been using this hotel for group business trips for the past several years. If you have work or personal travel in this area, I can't recommend this hotel enough. First, Alex is one of the most amazingly customer-focused sales managers I have ever had the pleasure with which to deal. Prompt responses. Value-added reservations. Accommodating of requests. That praise extends to those who run the front desk as well. Never had a negative experience with any of the employees. Second, the property is great. Close to the freeway access, but without traffic noise. Nicely maintained. Comfortable rooms with good amenities. Lobby that provides a variety of additional services (bar, breakfast, etc.) for the traveler needing those. Third, for the price, and given the location, this is a great value. Yes, you are not in Portland proper. But you are close. And it beats other hotels in the same area relative to price and condition (some charge too much for too little, or are legacy brands that need some updates, or are budget properties that aren't worth the price or the location). [[[[[[If there is any quibble, it is a small one: the shift to dispenser-based shampoo, conditioner, and lotion is an understandable one in terms of cost and 'green' considerations. But . . . they are not tamper-proof. That might not matter to some (and it really doesn't, for the most part, to me). Just an observation, and one I make recognizing that many other brands have also shifted to this approach for the reasons listed above.]]]]] All in all, highly recommended!!! Can't say enough positive things about my experiences at this property. Can't wait to stay here again.”

“This feels like a perfect honeymoon spot! We booked 1 night. Our room boasted a spa tub for 2. We were so pleasantly surprised that it was truly spacious enough for my 6'4 husband and my 5'9 self! Fits 2 usually doesn't fit us 2. The was also a fireplace and a great view. The bed was super comfy. The place was so great we decided we'd book a second night, but someone else already booked the room. The staff got us into another room, that is possibly even sexier! Now we're beach front, with a fireplace at the foot of the bed! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!”

Loved the bathroom set up- had a sink/mirror inside the bathroom/shower and a separate sink/mirror just outside of it. Great set up for four people! The location is wonderful- right on the ocean. You can’t walk into town easily, but it doesn’t matter. Special shout out to Heather, the GM who was super helpful and friendly. Yachats is a special place with a special vibe.”

“We checked in for several days while visiting family. The room was very, very clean, and it was quiet. I had two interactions with the front desk staff and they were kind and helpful. The breakfast was excellent. The only thing I might add is that the TVs in the rooms are small and dated, but we didn't use them. I did request housekeeping one day, and I came back that afternoon to a very clean room once again. I'll definitely choose this location when I return next year!”
