“Glorified Hostel. Don’t believe the hype. This review will be harsh but I genuinely feel it's justified. The hotel rests solely on what some have labeled ‘trendy’, however the people praising this hotel are the Helen Keller’s of style and substance. Possibly one of the most basic and over rated hotels I've ever stayed in, especially outrageous for the price. The lounge and 'lobby' (which is just a bench where the receptionist has their back to you) was styled nicely, but that's where it ended. The rest of the hotel is "decorated" (and I use that term loosely) in the most drab and cheap 'storage facility chic'. The hotel has absolutely no redeeming amenities or features other than location, which is also a double edged sword. It’s so noisy being in the nightlife district they give you complimentary ear plugs, which speaks for itself. The beds are comfortable, and although the rooms are clean they are incredibly basic and small, so basic there's literally nothing else to tell you about them. There’s no where to hang clothes or store luggage, no fridge for refreshments, just a medium sized tv on the wall. The breakfast was literally, and I mean literally, just a small assortment of baked products, some fruit and yoghurt - not even a standard basic continental breakfast, but the coffee was good. The common areas sans the lobby are not air conditioned, so the impromptu sauna you're subjected to whilst waiting for the single lift that moves at a glacial pace, isn't especially fun either. There are much better hotels within walking distance, especially for the price. Sorry, but I would not recommend this hotel to anyone I like.”

The only downside here is the pool is unsafe with a very high risk of slipping/injury due to very little room around the pool and no rails to get up & down the steps in the pool and no lifeguard on duty.”

“Great location in our opinion close to Elizabeth quay we took an Uba cost 8 to 9 dollars if walking would be 8 min in car depending on traffic very close. This was not a 5 star hotel compared to other 5 star hotels. There were things that the hotel did not provide such as Very limited after hours room service menu ONLY PIZZA AND HAM CHEESE SAM.. OR SMALL CURRY. BEWARE when buying a canned drink for $6 you only get half size can of coke. Room was very clean sheets clean comfortable bed but room is not in my option 5 star. To me 5 star is luxurious fitting there where no knives and forks spoons. or Alcohol in the mini fridge. View to room was good. No peanuts coke or chocolate or chips. Very good checkout time of 11AM. STAFF were friendly and accommodating.”

“We really liked Hotel Pensione from the minute we arrived. We were greeted by Sonam (from Bhutan) who was very friendly and extremely helpful. We had a nice surprise upon arrival when Sonam told us we had a free room upgrade. We were given room 704 right up on the top floor. We were amazed at how quiet the room was. We heard very little traffic noise and wouldn't have known any other guests were there. The room was compact but we expected that. The beds were super comfy and both of us enjoyed the large bath towels and endless supply of very hot water. The hotel is in a very handy location and we were able to easily walk to the malls, restaurants and the railway stations. Next time we are in Perth we will be sure to stay here.”

“Our double private room was amazing (very small sink in the bathroom but it's not that bad). Beds super comfy, air-conditioning and cleaning service for free. Common areas always clean and quiet. Reception always kind and available. Kitchenette... Not satisfied at all. It only has microwaves, toasters and air friers. We stayed two weeks but we struggled a lot to eat healthy food, because of the few possibilities of cooking. The prize is a little bit high, compared to the offered services. I would recommend this hostel for a short stay.”
