“The Hotel d’Angleterre was fabulous from minute one. The service in the front of the house was absolutely fantastic. After a long day of travel and not feeling well, I was unanimated, but you couldn’t help brighten up. Because of a partnership with our travel agent we were upgraded to a completely gorgeous lake view junior suite. Completely spacious with separate shower rooms and a fantastic porch overlooking the Jet d’Eau. The absolute best bed I’ve slept in in Switzerland. I finally got a good night sleep! And the Concierge desk, particularly Nicholas, were so incredibly helpful booking exactly what both I and my friend were looking for. I was originally going to book the Four Seasons as they own my favorite hotel in the world, but I was so glad my agent directed me here. The location and view were preferable. Even dinner at Windows was fantastic when I decided to give lamb another try. Don’t hesitate to book here! A wonderful experience. And if you can, get a lake view room!”

There was no bread, only dry rolls, there were no eggs, very poor selection of desserts & actually of everything…Service ok. But there were no knives for cheeses & warm food started cooking only at 12.”

“Liked • The location was great, close to the tram stop, walking distance to the train station and to the lake. There are also a few restaurants in the area as well as a grocery store. The staff was nice and we were lucky enough to be upgraded from a 4 bed dorm to a 2 bed dorm. Disliked • There were A LOT of older men (+50) and honestly a lot of them looked homeless (they have a partnership with an association for temporary housing for homeless people called La CausE). There's also an organization I was lucky to be traveling with my partner and had someone to help me feel safer but would not recommend for a solo female traveler. Also on the first morning someone (who I hope was staff) walked in to our room at 7am, causing us to wake up in a panic as we were in a 2 bed room and should be the only 2 with a key. Our room was also right above the entrance and it was super noisy until 2am as people stay there to smoke and chat with their drinks. The room was also extremely hot and there was no ventilation at all (weather was between 23-27°), i wouldn't want to stay there with warmer temperatures.”

“This is a small old hotel 10/15 minutes walk from the main train station in Geneva. It is desperately in need of a total refurbishment. The single room [206] that I occupied for 2 nights, 14 & 15 August 2023 was very small with barely enough room to walk round the bed and old wooden furniture. The mattress was very soft and it was on wooden slats, the worst possible combination. The pillows were soft, despite my request for "firm pillows". There is no air conditioning and the fan supplied was very noisy. You can hear all the traffic noise from outside through the old windows. The bathroom is smaller than on a cruise ship and water pours out of the circular curtained shower on to the floor making it slippy and quite dangerous. The shower control was in need of repair which was fixed but the shower head slips down the pole. There are no spare sockets or USB chargers in the room, so the only way to charge your phone or other device is to disconnect one of the bedside lights. There is a hanging closet with a shelf, but aside from the bedside cabinets, there are no drawers at all. Worst of all I found two different coloured hairs in my bed, which the Manager ascribed to the cleaning staff rather than previous guests. He apologised and was reluctant to do any more but I insisted on a 50% credit for the first night. Even by the high priced standards of Geneva this hotel is vastly overpriced. I would not stay here again under any circumstances.”

“Sleep here since 2018 3/4 times / month this hotel is Perfect the staff is the better I ever met in my entire professional life ! Sleep here for work, I know a lot of hotel around the world and I can tell you ! If you choose another one you will miss something Furthermore just front of the station ! Every room have a very large good bed , air conditioner towels bathrobes fridge ! Really a good one ! And since a while there are a sport room The breakfast is for everyone from everywhere you will find your happiness ! Staff talk kindly and will take care of you They Speak english German french spanish Italian! Enjoy it”

“The hotel is very nice, modern and with great location (near the train station and within walking distance of the Geneva lake and the old town). The rooms are very well furnished and clean. The staff, both at the reception and the restaurant, are wonderful – very kind and helpful! I have been in this hotel several times (last time in November with my sister) and I always have a great stay here. I would definitely book again. I highly recommend this hotel.”

“Great stay. Very efficient friendly staff. The location is perfect for the airport as well as the centre; so good to have the train on the doorstep. Also very peaceful atmosphere. I particularly liked there is no air conditioning but perfect temp in the room. Very comfortable spacious room. The reception/bar area is great, spacious and light. Brilliant design overall, loved the glass lifts. Will highly recommend. My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 stays, 7&8 Sep (in her name) and 12-15 Sep. Every member of staff was great.”
