“We are having a good time while staying at Mukarnas Taksim. The room is suitable for us (2 adults, 2 kids) with delicious breakfast (with so much of variation and the staff is vey attentive). The cleanliness is great. Staff also very helpful. The location was the best part. 2 minutes walk to the bustling Istiklal Street. Abundance of restaurants with reasonable price. Accessiblity is a bit tough, as car cannot enter the street directly to the lobby (have to walk a bit) Overall, it's a great stay especially with kids.”

“The hotel was immaculate and top class staff. The service and the friendly behaviour was consistent throughout our whole stay. They even recommended certain things to do and shortcuts to places that we didn’t know. The rooms were extremely clean and our stay couldn’t have been better if we tried. Amazing location since it was very close to all the travel links so we could get around Istanbul very easily. It was a very safe area felt like we was in the nicest part of the Istanbul the whole time. I will definitely be going back.”

“The hotel is located in an alley with a steep slope, which is not recommended at all during snowy days. Due to the lack of a suitable sidewalk, it is not easy and safe to access the hotel at any time of the year with a bag or a baby carriage. In the middle of the night, you could hear the sound of the car horn in the streets or the sound of the elevator going up and down. The room was smaller than what we saw in the pictures before booking. The quilts were torn and the room was not completely clean. For breakfast, the tea was sometimes cold and some breads were stale. Overall, it was much lower than expected for a four-star hotel.”

“Please be very cautious about this dangerous place. As a guest at this hotel, I am completely dissatisfied with their reception and management system. The day after I checked out, I realized that my shoes were missing from my suitcase. I immediately contacted the hotel, and they said they didn't have them. After reviewing my entire time there in my mind, I am certain that they are definitely there. Despite my numerous phone calls and visits, which exceeded 7 times, they told me to come and pick them up without apologizing and said they had just found them. The hotel has a very ordinary breakfast, and I hope you don't fall for it. The gym is very small and messy, and instead of opening at 12:00 noon, it opens much later. I hope all travelers pay attention to these issues and then make their decisions”

“Location of the hotel is good, like any other in the area. This is in no way a 4 star hotel. If may have been rated as such before, but the condition of rooms, shower, blankets... is not even suitable for a 3 star one. Bed sheets were stained and there was only one size (small) super stiff pillow available. I complained about available tea cups being stained (with tea and lip stick!) and they were substitute with a couple of dirty cups again!! Shower and toilet area was dirty and stained as well, no hair conditioner available and drainage got clogged one time! There were also mosquitos in the room!! Breakfast was good but there was only one type of bread and the coffee machine had only 3 working buttons (others taped over as dysfunctional) Fortunately, I had booked the room for only one night, but you can get double the service and much much better rooms in other 4 stars like AKKA Lush near the Taksim Square for only 10 to 20% higher price.”

“Location is great. Rooms are small but clean — standard Euro-style bargain hotel. The hotel would do well to improve its taxi/car service for guests. My partner needed to get to SAW airport, and the airport offered to set her up with a car (seemed like a good deal, and we felt we could trust the hotel). The car arrived five minutes late and the driver proceeded to ask intrusive and inappropriate questions of my partner and drove aggressively — he seemed to become angry when my partner declined to pay an up-charge to take a toll road. He responded passive aggressively by taking side roads, driving through neighborhoods and even stopping for gas (what cab driver takes a passenger without enough gas to get them to the destination they have hired them to get to?). This erratic behavior was frightening, to the point that I had to go down to the lobby (at a time when I was supposed to be packing for my own flight) to urge the hotel staff to contact their driver. They did so, but seemed to take the driver's side in the dispute. They explained that the issue had something to do traffic and tolls (seemingly unfazed by our reports of aggressive behavior and stopping for gas and a beverage mid-trip). The hotel manager did offer to keep the phone line open until the driver dropped my partner at the airport, to assure me of her safety, but if things have come to that they have already gone terribly wrong. Only when we had opened this line of communication did the driver finally get on the highway to the airport. I would encourage the hotel to be more discerning in its selection of drivers, especially those they are hiring to drive women passengers alone. This experience was a nasty and terrifying end to an otherwise lovely trip.”

“GREAT LOCATION! We were 20min walking distant from the historic sites and the grand bazaar. Very close to the water front with all the nice shops and restaurants. There is a great breakfast place downstairs. The hotel offers breakfast which was great but I recommend you try different places to experience the Turkish food. The hotel staff is very friendly. Rooms were new, they put us in a new building. Our room was tight but we knew that before booking. The shower pressure is insane, you’ll love it. There is hair dryer, fridge, electric kettle, and a safe. A big closet but no microwave. You don’t need a microwave when you can have a great kebab for $10. There is a slight language barrier with the staff but they all use Translator apps to communicate and they do their best. The checkin and checkout was quick and easy. If we visit Istanbul again, I’m staying at the same hotel.”

“Great location in a buzzing area of bars and restaurants of all kind. The room is very nice, well designed and minimal, the breakfast options vary from Turkish to bakery products , which was great? However the only minus is the coffee options: if you want anything other than a black coffee (let’s say a cappuccino) you have to pay extra. Other that that the hotel is great value for money. We used the spa services (sauna, swimming pool), which was a great way to relax after spending the whole day visiting the city”

“I am very grateful to the hotel for the rest! I stayed with my husband and child, everyone liked it. I managed to leave money at home without paying for the hotel in advance, and the hotel administration met me halfway, allowing me to pay first only part of the total amount, and then paying the rest. Moreover, we asked for a cot, and we were offered a triple room instead of a double room without any additional payment - it was very cool. I would like to mention the hotel staff separately: everyone is very polite and attentive. Special thanks to administrators Yusuf and Edisa! And they helped to solve all the problems, and they were very politely welcomed. The administration should appreciate such employees, because they are the face of the whole hotel! We lacked a little variety of breakfast food and alarmed the electrical outlets (some in room 701 were out of order). The room was always well cleaned, everything was clean. The windows of our room did not face the street, so it was quiet even with the window open. Excellent location, close to tram stops, Galata port and embankments. There are many cafes and restaurants in the surrounding streets.”

“Good place to stay. Modern, comfortable, good equipped. But you have to know that there is the school an opposite of the apartment so every morning and during the day, every 40 min you will have to listen to the bell (originally a song) the volume is very high, the windows rattle every time. Also every very early morning, afternoons and evenings you will have to listen to 5 times a day how the muezzin from the minaret of the mosque calls the faithful to prayer (load event to be honest). Just be notified about this issues, especially those who needs to stay at home all day along (remote workers, family with infants/toddlers etc.)”
