“Loved the breakfast, definitely worth the extra! The rooms are nice but a bit small, which if fine if you don't plan on spending much awake time in the room. I would advise against paying extra to get a room with a balcony, despite the nice pictures online you don't actually get more than a doorway. The service was the biggest letdown of my trip, especially as I experienced issues with the wifi every single day of my trip. I had work meetings interrupted two days in a row and the staff offered no help or workaround.”

“Everything was good during my solo travel. Rooms are small, and that's not a problem for a single person. Wardrobe was faced in the wrong direction and not enough light during the night. “We really enjoyed our stay at the Wellem. Overall the rooms were clean, the cleaning and hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The built in closets were great for quick organizing and the kitchen had everything you'd need. The room coffee system was fantastic and was refilled daily :D. Walking distance to the Christmas market, museums, and local restaurants. The only issue we had was with the quick grab pantry being closed, there was no way to get a quick snack if you needed something outside of the kitchen hours, which were limited. They do have restaurants, but there were not all "in" the building and lacked kid friendly foods. I also needed to use the business center that did not exist. The hotel did have a standing desk area with a computer (only), and could print if needed. Not a deal breaker, but helpful to know if you need to work while there. If in the area, I will stay here again based on the location of the hotel and the accommodating staff. The rooms were very clean,newly refurbished and well equipped. The whole hotel was very modern and clean. The staff were very helpful and caring. After a comfortable good night's sleep we headed down down for a light breakfast in which they had something for everyone to enjoy. There was a calm atmosphere at the hotel throughout which was lovely. I would recommend this hotel to families, couples or people staying on their own. Thank you for the stay.”

“We stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels couple of times a year. This hotel is nice, clean, but as previous reviews said breakfast time is very, very busy. I would like to thank a breakfast team for their support on the Saturday the 06th January. My son has life threatening allergies and the man on duty (sorry do not know the name) was patiently checking for us the ingredients for a couple of products like rolls, ham, sausages etc, so we can be sure our son can eat something and is safe. “Great simple hotel close to 3 towns (Mulheim an der Ruhr, Oberhausen and Essen). Great transport links (strassenbahn, bus, train) if you don't have a car or are worried about driving round. Rooms are basic, but clean. Towels, linen, hairdryer and hand/body wash provided. Free WiFi for the duration of your stay and a TV in the room. Ample hanging storage room for short stays. We always use Hotel B&B when we travel to Germany as we know what to expect and have not been disappointed yet. Only extra that would be great is a kettle or coffee machine, but there are vending machines for a coffee, hot chocolate or soup and cold drinks (including beer) in the foyers. Breakfast is quite basic and not that cheap - but OK if you are really stuck. Most of the B&Bs have an affiliation with a local take away - you can order from the hotel and have it delivered to your room. Would definitely recommend.”
