From time to time the elevators don't work properly (generally just one of the three). Besides that Avalon offers spectacular views, great access to subways, parks and local nightlife. Wouldn't rather want to be any place else. Thanks guys!”

“Dogs illegally off leash every single day which could harm the public. Dog owners let their animals roam all over the public access landscaping despite the signs 416-420 Kent avenue and as a result the grass look horrible. The building management needs to take care of this problem immediately before a child is bitten and the owners of the property are deemed responsible. Property management needs to get this illegal activity under control. It’s very sad to me that negligent dog owner residents care so little about the community who enjoys the park that they will use this space as a personal toilet for their dogs, while putting their neighbors at risk.”

“My wife and our baby girl lived in PLG for the last year (review dated September 2023). We had only moved to the US recently and PLG became our first home. I will say this, it’s not perfect but form my perspective all the negative comments I am reading on Google are very dramatic. The building offers a lot more than one can ever take advantage of or any person really ever could need. We love the outdoor pool and the BBQ area for hot summer days. The basketball court is amazing , there is a good group of people in the building meeting up for playing some ball. The indoor pool and hot tub during the winter days are super! (Changing rooms could be cleaned more often, but nothing that really bothered me). The gym is very well equipped and basically removes the need for a gym subscription. There is a lot more to the building, like a game rooms and other things that we don’t take advantage of. Elevators have some wait times but never more than a minute. At no point ever did we feel unsafe, neither in the neighborhood nor in the building. You see people leaving their front doors open while getting a package from the lobby, and so did we. We never worried about that something could happen. Most importantly all the great people who run the building deserve a shoutout! First, Imeh who is managing the rentals is incredibly forthcoming and helpful. You won’t find anyone more friendly or supportive! Juan the super is a superstar! You log a ticket and the guys will come immediately to help you with whatever you need in your apartment. And all folks at the front desk are great guys! Total luxury to never worry about packages and a total bonus if you don’t even have to say your apartment number when you get to the front desk cause the guys saw you coming and got your packages out already.”

“I lived here for over 2 years. Nice amenities (when they work; i.e. golf simulators were constantly broken as were the rooftop grills) and doormen are great. The supers are great as well. BUT, the management is absolutely terrible. I had not one, but TWO floods in my kitchen. They offered zero concessions for this. The elevators were also out of commission for nearly a year. No matter what time of day, you would have to wait for the elevator. Management kept saying "they are being improved" but don't hold your breath; the elevators will be under repair indefinitely. You will also be very much overpaying at this complex. I heard the previous management company was fantastic, but this one is the polar opposite. I do not recommend living here.”
