Escape Room Amsterdam - Sherlocked
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 10:00 AM

Damrak 247, 1012 ZJ Amsterdam, Netherlands

“The Alchemist escape room is simply amazing. From the moment you step in, you're transported into a magical world where every little detail adds to the overall experience. It's hands down the best escape room I've ever tried. The room design is like a work of art, blending mystery and fantasy seamlessly. The puzzles aren't just challenges; they're part of a exhilarating story. It feels like you're on a journey, with every object and symbol leading you to unravel a captivating mystery. The puzzles are just right – not too hard, not too easy. They're creative and diverse, so everyone in the team can get involved. Teamwork is key, and each puzzle contributes to the bigger picture. The creators really went all out to make sure you have a memorable experience. The atmosphere, sound effects, and visuals all work together to make you feel like you're in a different world. It's not just about getting out of a room; it's about going on a magical adventure.”

Leidseplein

Leidseplein, 1017 PT Amsterdam, Netherlands

“Nice square with a lot of restaurants and bars. Has more to do than dam square in my opinion, and not as crowded. The square was built In 1660, and its name was taken from the gate which stood there until 1862 and was the gate from which people arrived from thet city of Leiden. Interestingly, The original reason for the construction of the square was to be a parking place for the carriages of those who arrived to the city”

Van Beek Art Supplies

Stadhouderskade 63, 1072 AD Amsterdam, Netherlands

“What to say? The most art store, art store I have ever visited? Yes. The best most knowledgeable staff in an art store... yes. All the best. All my Amsterdam souvenirs... yes.”

Stadsstrand De Kade

Noorderkade 1027, 1823 CJ Alkmaar, Netherlands

“Pretty cool place to hang around, it is self service based, and a very relaxed ambient with sand floor, right next to the river. Espresso is not so good, but they have variety of beers, so I guess you can find one for your taste. Good thing is a huge parking lot right across the street, so the location is great, although many would bike to this one usually, but for tourists it helps a lot.”

The Beatles Museum
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 12:00 PM

Pettemerstraat 12A, 1823 CW Alkmaar, Netherlands

“I'm sure that die-hard Beatles fans will love it, but this wasn't for me or my teenage sons (who have little to no knowledge of their music). On the plus side, there's a amazing collection of memorabilia, and all the information boards are translated to English. However, it's quite a passive experience that felt like looking through a collection with no real explanation of what was important and why. Overall, it only captured our attention for about 20 mins and seemed very over-priced for what it was.”

Alpaca Eco Farm
4.9
( 10 reviews )

Hoeverweg 13, 1934 PK Egmond aan den Hoef, Netherlands

“Perfect idea for those who, like us - have a sudden need of animal interaction to fulfill. The animals seem happy and taken care of. We chose the only available option- high tea, but don’t expect anything fancy, keep in mind - if you want a proper high tea go to a hotel or pastry shop. Here the main things are alpacas: you get to feed them, pet them and just let them be around. You get an instax photo and a postcard included, also there’s a laminated card with rules and fun facts about those creatures. The staff is also super friendly. I totally recommend this place 🙌🦙”

Oude Turfmarkt 127-129, 1012 GC Amsterdam, Netherlands

“The current exhibition ("Open kaart – van atlas tot streetmap") shows a variety of maps and atlases starting from the 15th century until now (and plans of the future). I always loved (historical) maps, so I enjoyed this exhibition very much. The museum itself is relatively quiet, but after visiting more populated museums I would only see that as a positive thing.”

Amstelveld 10, 1017 JD Amsterdam, Netherlands

“The organ is absolutely stunning, beautifully crafted and produces an enchanting sound that resonates throughout the entire building. Speaking of which, the building itself holds a fascinating history as it was once used as a stable by none other than Napoleon Bonaparte. The intricate details of the organ are simply mesmerizing, with each note played echoing through the grand halls and captivating everyone present. The ornate decorations adorning the instrument further enhance its elegance and give it a sense of grandeur. As for the building, its transformation from a humble stable into a breathtaking concert hall is truly remarkable. The echoes of its past can still be felt within its walls, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the experience. Imagining the mighty horses that once occupied these halls while now being surrounded by awe-inspiring melodies is a testament to the rich history that lies within. Undoubtedly, this unique combination of history and artistry makes this venue an unforgettable place to witness the organ in all its glory. Whether you're a music aficionado or a history enthusiast, the allure of this remarkable space will surely leave a lasting impression.”

“Amazing street art experience in Amsterdam. We had an amazing opportunity to see SAMA collection in a guided tour by the founder of the SAMA. Heard stories about artists, street art works, stories of neighbourhoods and local communities. Definitely recommend to take guided tour, but also if you’re ready to make effort you can follow qr codes and take the tour by yourself. If you want classical museum, then remember that we call street art the way we call it because it is on the street!”

“A quiet library. with families bringing their children and students preparing for their exams. It has a large area of children's books as well as educational games for them. They also have a section of books in English, for those who have not yet mastered the Dutch language. Quiet, cozy and always warm for the cold days in Zaandam. They have a wide catalog, and you can go there to read a book or the daily newspapers they have. They also have a coffee, tea and water machine, to enjoy a hot drink with views of the canal. A highly recommended library to enjoy a quiet moment looking for books. With plenty of cultural offering.”
