1201 U St NW, Washington, DC 20009, United States

“We love tiki bars, and came here on a friends recommendation. I’m so glad we took the time to head here. The drinks are so good and the happy hour specials include a lot of classics. I really enjoyed the pina coladas and the Captain Cody. The food was also VERY good but do know it’s about appetizer size. Our server was also really nice and attentive to our large party.”

“Quick summary: go for the Rooftop. My office held our holiday outing here on a Thursday evening. We were able to find street parking since it was after 630pm. As we waited for the whole group, we went by the fireplace to play big Jenga. They had other games to pass the time with also. Once everyone arrived and we signed our waivers, Kevin was our instructor and took good care of us. We started at throw 12 and saw behind us the glow option and asked to switch lanes. They were more than accommodating on that night, which I know was because the traffic of people was manageable. Food wise enjoyed the Mac and cheese bites and tacos. There were also wings, chicken nachos, and pig in a blanket we ordered as shareables. Time went quickly since we only had an hour with 8 people. We sat in the den to talk about our year and upcoming holiday plans. We were wrapping up, and I wanted to see the upstairs area. SHOULD'VE STARTED AT THROW SOCIAL. As soon as the elevator hit the second floor, I could hear one of my favorite songs through the elevator door. I was on the dance floor in under a minute and stayed on there for 20 minutes straight. The ladies on my team said we'll make this a ladies' night out stop for sure.”

The Ellipse

Washington, DC 20004, United States

“The Ellipse, set in the heart of Washington, D.C., is an expansive, iconic green space often playing host to various events and offering picturesque views of the White House's southern facade. It's a place where history and present-day activities seamlessly merge. However, much like any outdoor space, its charm can be momentarily overshadowed by the capriciousness of weather. A cold and rainy day can indeed veil its true beauty, turning the usually vibrant grounds into a muted canvas, and reducing visibility of its surrounding landmarks. While it's unfortunate that the elements didn't cooperate during your visit, the Ellipse, on a brighter day, promises a delightful experience, whether it's for a leisurely stroll, a moment of reflection, or simply to soak in the historic ambiance. Perhaps a return visit under kinder skies might offer the full majesty of this iconic space.”

Rubell Museum Dc

Closed until 10:00 AM

65 I St SW, Washington, DC 20024, United States

“Upon entering, visitors are greeted with gigantic works of art overlooking the room's spacious lobby arranged at each corner of the walls. However, these pieces are only a visual appetizer as to what's to come further on, where the Rubell Musrum houses much more captivating pieces. Continuing onward, numerous rooms of different art can be freely explored in any order. While paintings and other 2D art is present, I was mostly captivated by 3D works and installations which fill up entire spaces. Being able to inspect and interact with these pieces at an up-close distance never loses its thrill and is always engaging. Exhibits rotate as is expected, meaning visitors will be thrilled across any number of visits that are spaced apart.”

Gala Hispanic Theatre
4.6
( 16 reviews )

3333 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20010, United States

“How is it that I've lived in Baltimore for over 20 years and just learned of this amazing theater! It was a lovely theater and a great performance. There was Spanglish everywhere!”

Folger Theatre

Closed until 12:00 PM

201 E Capitol St SE, Washington, DC 20003, United States

“A beautiful theater space with around probably 250-ish seats. The architecture of the space is evocative of a much older space. The performance was top notch and inventive. If you are a Shakespeare fan, seeing a play here is well worth your time.”

Dupont Underground
4.4
( 8 reviews )

19 Dupont Cir NW, Washington, DC 20036, United States

“I went for a comedy show, and was surprised to find an art gallery at this underground tunnel. There were art works along the walls. It was a combination of videos, street/graffiti or modern art, whatever you call them. They were bold and colorful. The old underground trolley tunnel was kind of dark and there were wooden boards on the abandoned tracks. I would be mindful walking around. It was warm if not hot. Not much of air circulation down there. I sweated a lot. There was a booth selling drinks, but I wouldn’t dare to drink anything, because there was no bathroom, Period. One more thing, Internet connection was slow and spotty. There were five comedians performed for an hour show. Three were mediocre and two were awkward. I would give the show 4 out of 10 at most. Nevertheless it was a nice alternative comedy venue at an affordable price.”
