Has a lot of cool items for sale like kimonos, katanas, scrolls, lacquer ware, etc. If there is something you are looking for then likely you can find it here. Tends to be on the pricier side but if you want to do all your shopping in one place then this is a good place to go.”

Japan, 〒604-8172 Kyoto, Nakagyo Ward, Banocho, 606

“There are so many artworks produced by 3rd and 4th year students which are very impressive. There is a section that presented work of professional artists, too. There are 3 floors, not too big and not too small. If you love art, recommend 🙂.”

Costume Museum

( 8 reviews )
Closed until 10:00 AM

Japan, 〒600-8468 Kyoto, Shimogyo Ward, Hanayacho, 下る 井筒佐女牛ビル 5階 新

“The Costume Museum is a small and quiet one-floor exhibit of various dioramas of scenes of dolls depicting "The Tale of Genji" and the Heian Period. Even if you are not well-versed on this part of Japanese culture and history as I am, you will appreciate the very detailed creations in here. If you are a photographer, I encourage bringing a macro lens to really get into the visual details - everything is amazingly well crafted and maintained. Expect going around the exhibit to take at least 30 minutes.”
