“I've been here with a class of 26 children and all of them were entertained in an educational way. It was a very impressive experience and I have learned a lot concerning the second world war. Very humbling to hear people tell about children having to steal coal to keep their families warm, or how people were hiding others in plain sight to save them from the Germans (app. 1945). There is a lot to be learned here, about basic human rights, for example. We should never stop strive for equal rights, to treat one another better and use words, instead of weapons.”

“History of Flipje and a good collection of related items. There's also a small room about the production of jam and juice. Above ground floor there are rooms about the history of Tiel. The staff gives a short introduction at the start to give you an idea where things are which is quite nice. Note that the exhibitions are in Dutch only but the staff does speak English.”

When they left, she gave us the tour as well, even though there were only a few of us in the group. She was good with children, but didn't dumb down too much so kept the adults interested too. Recommend a visit!”
