Cambridge Escape Rooms
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 10:45 AM

Lincoln House, Business Centre, The Paddocks, Cherry Hinton Rd, Cambridge CB1 8DH, United Kingdom

“We had a lot of fun in the escape rooms! Initially when we got into the first room we all thought "Is that it???" but then it turned out that there were many more to come and we loved solving all the puzzles, some of which were pretty damn difficult. We will be visiting again as we had loads of fun. Great bonding experience!”

National Trust - Peckover House And Garden
4.6

N Brink, Wisbech PE13 1JR, United Kingdom

“Despite having lived in the Peterborough area since 1983 and going to or through Wisbech many times, I've never made the effort to visit Peckover House! We finally decided to go, and we weren't disappointed. The guided tour lasted roughly one hour, and the guide provided a wealth of fascinating detail about the history of the house and the people who lived there. Although quite a large townhouse, it is modest in some senses - at least in comparison with most of the stately homes we have visited. As the guide said, there's a mix of different styles of furniture and accessories, but this is because the furniture was auctioned off at some point in the past. The grounds are surprisingly big, covering 2 acres of land in the heart of Wisbech! There's a cafe (unfortunately closed at the time of our visit) with toilets (and more toilets in the basement level), a large greenhouse and an orangery. The flowerbeds were packed with beautiful flowers and an impressive collection of unusual mature trees towered over the gardens. It's an oasis in the heart of a bustling town and I'd love to go back to visit sometime.”

Oliver Cromwell's House
4.4
( 8 reviews )
Closed until 11:00 AM

29 St Mary's St, Ely CB7 4HF, United Kingdom

“Oliver Cromwell's House in Ely is the only surviving home of the British "Lord Protector", he lived in it for ten years (1643-1653). It is a small museum which aims to recreate how Cromwell lived during this time, and does a pretty good job of it. This isn't a huge place, so it will not occupy visitors for much more than an hour. The audio guide you get at the front desk (UKP 6.50 for an adult ticket) is very helpful, make sure to use it. As you walk through the rooms you'll get a nice sense of the place and the history behind it, though the means of "immersion" and "interactivity" are very limited indeed. Most of the time you'll be listening to the audio guide or reading the info posters on the walls. A brief video at the start will give you some info on the man's life. Worth a visit if you're in Ely anyway (the marvellous Ely Cathedral) is just a short walk away). Also, make sure to have a quick look at Cromwell's community church, St. Mary', right next door.”

Town And Gown

Closed until 10:00 AM

8 Market Passage, Cambridge CB2 3PF, United Kingdom

“Visited here with friends in November. Lovely place with a genuinely fun atmosphere, staff were friendly and food was really enjoyable! We were hoping to stay for 3 courses (as we had travelled a long way to catch up with friends) but after our main a member of staff informed us that the next booking would be arriving in half an hour and they would need the table. So we went elsewhere for dessert. Not a problem, but it would have been nice to be given the option to book a longer slot in advance.”

St Ives Bridge
4.8
( 10 reviews )
Open until 11:59 PM

St. Ives PE27 5UW, United Kingdom

“Significantly historic 15th century bridge, only 1 of 4 in England incorporating a chapel (a visit inside can be arranged by contacting the town hall or Norris Museum) providing peaceful and scenic views up and down the Great Ouse.”

Bottisham Airfield Museum
4.8
( 8 reviews )

Wilbraham Road, Cambridge CB25 9BU, United Kingdom

“Excellent small museum with superb exhibits and stories of Americans based their during the war. The cafe and cakes are fantastic :) well worth a visit and a popular biker haunt. The volunteers are chatty and very friendly, it's a great experience even if it is small, it covers a lot of history, even the Home Front efforts. They have a P51 on display outside perfect to walk around and get some really close experience of these long range fighters.”

Cambridge Museum Of Technology
4.4
( 8 reviews )

Entrance on Riverside. The Old Pumping Station, Cheddars Ln, Cambridge CB5 8LD, United Kingdom

“Visited with my 6 year old. She really enjoyed the toilet roll challenges and facts as well as finding the rats. There was also an arts and craft activity ran by a volunteer. Friendly staff, toilets, and cafe. The working type writer was a big hit. My daughter loved learning how to use it. I'd recommend making this a more interactive feature of the museum. I also taught her how to use an old phone. She loved the red phone box outside. Needs a clean though. Some dressing up provided, I reckon that could be a fun activity if there was more to do with it, for example, an interactive piece of technology.”
