Oregon Rail Heritage Center
4.7
( 8 reviews )

2250 SE Water Ave, Portland, OR 97214, United States

“This place is so cool and a great way to bring out your inner child! My partner and I took a weekend ride on the holiday express during night, so it was hard to see outside but the train itself was such a fun experience. Some of the volunteers were much more lively than others which was understandable but you do get a lot from the ride. They have you order the tickets in advance so it shouldn't get too crowded inside. I would definitely recommend it to get into the holiday spirit, would love to try it again next year during daylight.”

Leach Botanical Garden

6704 SE 122nd Ave, Portland, OR 97236, United States

“Loved my visit with the family to the botanical gardens. I’ve been meaning to go here for a few years now and finally paid it a visit. I am glad I did, it is very beautiful. My son loved the elevated tree walk and looking at the view. Tons of amazing plants and trees. Highly recommend. Great place to get your steps in and enjoy a beautiful garden and learn about some PNW history.”

Electric Castle's Wunderland
4.5
( 16 reviews )

Avalon Theatre, 3451 SE Belmont St, Portland, OR 97214, United States

“The Escape Rooms were absolutely incredible. We have played over 50 rooms across the region, and these two were some of the best. Murder in London is one of the most impressively immersive and clever experiences we have done. Our game master was a blast, gave fantastic hints, and really cared. It didn't hurt that we got to kill time between games playing the best-priced arcade games in the area.”

Mt Hood Lanes

Closed until 02:00 AM

2311 Powell Blvd, Gresham, OR 97080, United States

“Our family went to Mt Hood Lanes recently. The kids had so much bowling. We loved that the bumpers for the littles were automatic. We can’t wait to go back!”

Broadway Bridge
4.5
( 10 reviews )

Portland, OR 97227, United States

“First time over, i took the rail tram from my hotel by the Convention Center to the downtown area. It looked cool then. From the restaurant, I decided to walk back to the hotel. At night. 1.1 miles. In the dark. Oh noes! All the streets from Carlitas to the crowne Plaza had sidewalks. Had pedestrian push buttons and controls to get right off way. No problems with any other pedestrians nor cars. Going over the bridge though was the highlight. Took my time. Checked out the city scene with all the lights. Pretty cool for sure.”

Burnside Bridge
4.4

Portland, OR 97209, United States

“So it's not the best breed to pick the walkover for the scenery because it's windy as heck like being on the top of the Empire State Building but it's beautiful scraper night walk did you get photos of the Portland sign especially if it's somebody from out of town.”

The Monkey King Play House

“Firstly, this place is smack dab in the middle of the ghetto… It’s centered in a rundown outdoor shopping mall surrounded by cheap apartments. Once you get inside, the place is HUGE. This could be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on your child. The jungle gym itself is massive and is at least eight panels deep by eight panels wide. Which means if you are on one side, you cannot see all the way through to the other side. AKA you cannot really watch your child from the outside. Therefore, if you have a little-little, you have to follow them INTO the jungle gym, just to keep an eye on them. For me, this was a huge downside. I came to this place hoping for a break from chasing a toddler and instead I got more of a workout than a normal day. Next, is the price of this place. It’s much more expensive than any of the other place that I’ve been to. I think that speaks to the fact that it’s really aimed towards older/bigger children. They do have a half price day & that was worth it for us. Finally, there is an arcade section that is not set up in an ideal manner. There is a violent, Jurassic Park, shoot em up game that is placed directly next to the jungle gym area. So, even though I was able to peel my small child away from the appeal of a screen in the arcade area, she found her way back to it once she was inside the play structure. They should really move this game away from everything else. Overall, if you have kids that you are not concerned with keeping an eye on, this place is great. But, if you have smaller children that you’d like to be able to see, be aware that you will be following them into the structure. In addition, they will be surrounded by lots of kids of varying ages. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and I would not want to see what this place looks like on a weekend.”
