Top 5 Arts & Entertainment in Toscana
Via degli Alfani, 78, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
“Astounding works of art created by skilled craftsmen from cut pieces of (semi precious) stones of such wonderful colours. A useful explanatory film is shown in the 'laboratory' upstairs. Prepare to be amazed.”
Via Roma, 79, 56011 Calci PI, Italy
“Nice to visit, but if you are a non Italian speaker, you pay full fee and get no service. The guide isn't bothered by non Italians who have to glare at one (English) one pager 🤫 Not very religious for such a religious place 😇”
Via della Scala, 49R, 50123 Firenze FI, Italy
“I was having falafel with my mom the other day (in the US) and I was saying, "this is pretty good, but the best falafel I ever had was that place in Florence. That place was so great. I wonder if it's still there..." I did study abroad in Florence for 9 months over 30 years ago and I made sure to bring my mom to get falafel when she visited me, because it was that good. All I remembered was that it was Egyptian and was near Santa Maria Novella. I googled it and here it is. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's still around, anyplace that great would surely stay in business. I'm not an expert on middle eastern food by any stretch, but I have lived in NYC, Paris, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC--all places with great international food options--and Re d'Egitto is hands down the best falafel I've ever had.”
Via Vittorio Emanuele, 42, 50041 Calenzano FI, Italy
“Great venue. We went there for a Christmas staff party and it’s very well organized. The karts are electric powered and can reach good speed. Would totally recommend this place for a fun night!”
Piazza di S. Firenze, 5, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
“You definitely have to love film and stage design to fully appreciate this place.. But if you do, then it a stellar experience. Seeing the transformation from Zefferelli's graphic representation to stage: play and opera, gives an insight into what an imagination and vision he must have had. I loved the Inferno room and his pictorial translation of Dante's Circles of Hell..Spent over two hours here and then enjoyed their tapas and coffee outside.”
Piazza de' Pitti, 1, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy
“This is one of the nicest museums I’ve ever visited, it has several parts to it. It has lots of amazing artwork, artifacts, paintings, statues, and much more. It has a very big collection that is very well displayed and preserved. It’s definitely worth visiting, I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely recommend visiting this museum and its many galleries.”
Largo Enrico Fermi, 5, 50125 Firenze FI, Italy
“If you like arts and are uninterested in science, visit the terrace on the roof for breathtaking view of Fiorenza, with Palazzo della Signoria, the Duomo and Santa Maria Novella in prime view. Otherwise, if you seek (virtute and) canoscenza, the Osservatorio offers a really interesting laboratory, Einstein's original piano, and science experiments. Generally not open to the public, look for special events.”
Via Ghibellina, 70, 50122 Firenze FI, Italy
“The house Museum of Michelangelo is absolutely spectacular; it’s got lots of his works on display. They are very well preserved and displayed, it’s really a unique museum to visit. It has his works of art ranging from paintings, to drawings, statues, sculptures and other various artifacts. I really enjoyed my time here and I would definitely like to go back. I would certainly recommend visiting this place if your in the city of Florence.”
Via Sandro Pertini, 101, 50041 Calenzano FI, Italy
“Intrigued by the positive reviews, we decided to go for lunch. The place is very small, "dark" and chaotic. The tables among other things are very close to each other so the place is not worth it. Plus we expected something better in terms of food. In particular on the Uramaki, we took several dishes and each of them had raw rice. Unfortunately, according to my taste (both the place and the dishes), I don't recommend it and I won't go back 😀🤷🏽♀️”
