“Outstanding 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Gone 'Panto Smut', enter Musical Theatre. Simple, but effective choreography. Great soundtrack, well delivered vocals. Great stage sets and lighting. Superb stagecraft - great finale, avoiding a long curtain call. 'Jack' & 'Sarah' entertaining panto characters with 'sensible' narrative. Moderate satire and political jokes. Great costumes! 💃 👏”

“An attractive and interesting house with very helpful guides in each room . We enjoyed walking around the walled garden, lake ,park land and woods. The tea room serves cakes, sandwiches, salad pots and cakes . Food can be eaten in the tearoom or taken away for a picnic in the grounds. The food was delicious. There was plenty of parking space . A lovely day out”

Thirsk Racecourse Ltd
4.4
( 10 reviews )

Station Rd, Thirsk YO7 1QL, United Kingdom

“A lovely country course with a decent standard of flat racing. We visited in May on an evening of heavy rain. We nearly decided to drive past because of the weather but we are glad that we didn't. We bought Premier Enclosure badges, so had access to all areas. When you walk in you're greeted with a friendly smile and welcome. The entrance opens up onto the parade ring which is typical for a country course. Plenty of room to see the horses parade. The facilities are very good. You have a traditional pub with cask ales, a seafood bar and a vibrant bar overlooking the finishing line. The crowd was sparse because of the weather, so it was very easy to get a seat in the stands but there was also plenty of room on the viewing terrace and lawn. Seven competitive races followed with good information over the pa system. Parking was easy so access in and out of the course wasn't a problem. The toilets were very clean and of a high standard.”

Knaresborough Viaduct
4.8
( 8 reviews )

River Nidd, Pateley Bridge, Knaresborough, Harrogate HG3 5AR, United Kingdom

“What a beautiful place to visit. The Viaduct, the Weir, the Castle, and surrounding areas are full of history. Catch a train to York, again worth the visit. Only four stops on the train. People are very friendly and helpful. It's definitely a tourist attraction, worthy of a visit in this beautiful part of the world. I visited in January, and the Christmas decorations are still up. It's definitely stunning.”

Jervaulx Abbey
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$

Park House, Jervaulx, Ripon HG4 4PH, United Kingdom

“What a beautiful way to spend New Year's Day. The sun was shining & the sheep were loving it! The Abbey is such a wonderful, historical place. The grounds are fantastic. There were so many friendly people out walking. We were a little disappointed to see that there were a large number of people using the car park & also walking around the Abbey that didn't put anything into the 'honesty box'. Admittedly, we didn't have any cash or a mobile signal, so we donated on the website when we got home. I'm hoping that all the other people did the same as I'm sure the upkeep is costly. We definitely want to return when the tearooms are open, as we've heard great reports!!”

The Coldstones Cut

Bewerley, Harrogate HG3 5JE, United Kingdom

“We came across this today and so pleased we stopped to take a walk up! The views would have been amazing, but we got fog covering most of the area. It was also a windy day. But we loved it! The 2 towers had useful information at the top. We took out little dog and she loved exploring! Theres plenty of information boards to learn about it. There’s also a bit of a climb to the top, but great views. You can see the quarry being excavated!”

Hollywood Plaza Cinema

( 8 reviews )

159 N Marine Rd, Scarborough YO12 7HU, United Kingdom

“Wow I loved this place. It was like stepping back in time when I went through the doors. I was holidaying and thought I would go to the cinema. The latest James Bond film was on. I was shown a plan of the seating and asked where I would like to sit. It was really busy. I went up the steps and was shown to my seat. The seats were like they were back in the 1950's red velvet, and nowhere to put your drink. There was a stage with red curtains pulled, where you could see the screen behind them. A young man came selling sweets etc at the end of each row, from a wooden box. I loved it. The place filled up and the film began. There wasn't a sound from that audience. What a fabulous night. If you live local go to.it, if you visit Scarborough make it a must. Loved it!”
