Top 5 Arts & Entertainment in Essex County

Count Orlok's Nightmare Gallery
4.6
( 8 reviews )

217 Essex St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“Great wax museum inside the oldest bank building in Salem (1803), and they make use of the old vaults, so it's a unique setup. If you are a fan of horror films and their history, you'll like this place. There are placards throughout the gallery that provide a lot of little known facts/trivia about the actors and films throughout horror cinema history. No photos allowed in the gallery, just in the shop. Gift shop is small, but charming. My daughter and I really enjoyed it.”

Winnekenni Castle
4.6
( 16 reviews )

Castle Rd, Haverhill, MA 01830, United States

“The castle is not open to the public...the walking trails in the woods are very nice. The grounds are beautiful. Picnic tables, rest room, screened houses with picnic tables. Great shelters. Great place to visit..no cost!”

Fort Sewall
4.7
( 16 reviews )

8 Fort Sewall Ln, Marblehead, MA 01945, United States

“Very scenic spot located directly opposite Marblehead Lighthouse at opening to Marblehead Harbor. The fort is what remains of the earthworks, plus a bunker not currently open to the public (doors are open, but gated you can peek in) Some nice spots to check out the islands in the harbor. There a stairway to the rocks by the water below but the footing could be tricky. Parking is going to be the tough part, most of the parking is back at the bottom of the hill/ but it fills up pretty fast.”

Black Veil Shoppe Of Drear & Wonder
4.9
( 10 reviews )

137 Boston St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“There is so much to see here! The ambiance is akin to coming across a Witches cabin tucked away in the woods with treasures in just about every nook and cranny. This was my #1 stop in Salem.”

Cinema Salem
4.6
( 8 reviews )

1 E India Square Mall, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“I have been making it "my thing" to do on Sunday afternoon. The staff is always very polite. The popcorn is always fresh. It is nice to have a theatre right downtown. I hope more people support this local business. My only critique is the bathrooms needs updating. I am sure that will come in time. Thanks for keeping this theatre open!”

The Witchery
4.8
( 16 reviews )

86 Wharf St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“Me and my husband were celebrating our wedding anniversary the weekend before Halloween and this is such a fun activity to do! We loved making our own brooms! Such a unique activity! Loved having all the different options available to help create your master piece. It’s also nice having 2 teachers walk you through the process step by step and to also help assist when necessary! (Can get a little tricky!) CHECK THEM OUT! Highly recommend booking in advance - like we did but, if you can’t get in to make your own broom they also sell at home kits as well which is super cool!”

Salem Pioneer Village
4.2
( 8 reviews )

98 West Ave, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“I paid for my tickets back in September for my trip in November, e-mail claimed someone would call us regarding our tickets but to this day they never did. I’ve tried calling MULTIPLE times regarding our tickets and was left with no answer. …”

Launch Entertainment Park Methuen
4.2
( 8 reviews )

96a Milk St, Methuen, MA 01844, United States

“We celebrated our son’s 10th birthday at launch over the weekend and we had the pleasure having James as our host. He was amazing and extremely patient with our large group. We highly recommend doing parties there, the set up and clean up was all taken cared of. I even forgot the candles and they were ready with everything! Thank you Launch Methuen and James for being a great host!”

Gallows Hill Museum/theatre
4.5
( 16 reviews )

7 Lynde St, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“This place was our first stop in Salem, just came across it. We did the tour and the show, it was so fun. Our guide seemed to really love his job, he was funny, engaging and stayed in character. The show was great! More fun than history but perfect for the setting. The costumes and actors were awesome. It was inexpensive and entertaining. If you are thinking of trying it, I say do it!”

Salem Willows Arcade
4.6
( 8 reviews )

167 Fort Ave, Salem, MA 01970, United States

“Always a great place to spend time over the summer, and there are so many food options just outside. And the old school games are pretty cool!”
