Kielder Observatory
4.8
( 8 reviews )
Open until 05:00 PM

Black Fell, Kielder, Hexham NE48 1EJ, United Kingdom

“We went to Space Kids - rockets and more recently and it was absolutely fantastic. My husband and I enjoyed it along with our son, who came out smiling and inspired. The whole event was fabulous and there was a good mix of talking and doing if that makes sense. The team were approachable, chatty and talented. The observatory and surroundings are beautiful too. Highly recommended!”

Edlingham Castle
4.6
( 16 reviews )

B6341, Edlingham, Alnwick NE66 2BW, United Kingdom

“This ruin is free and 11th century church nearby has info boards about church and castle. Gentle 3min walk from church takes you to castle..fine views of ruin with disused railway viaduct in background. Can wander over what's left of Manor house ruins and view defensive tower. Church has large folder of favourite sharing recipies free of charge idea being goid to share something of joy with others. Back to castle well worth a visit..quiet and can imagine its past life”

Berwick-upon-tweed Castle And Ramparts
4.4
( 10 reviews )
Open until 04:00 PM

Parade, Berwick-upon-Tweed TD15 1DF, United Kingdom

“Park near the train station, very easy to get to from there. Absolutely don't walk up the hill to the back over looking the river tweed & definitely don't fall face first into stinging nettles. Not really much to see but worth a visit if you are in the area.”

Kirkharle Courtyard
4.2
( 8 reviews )

Courtyard, Kirkharle, Newcastle upon Tyne NE19 2PE, United Kingdom

“A quaint courtyard of craft and art shops and a cafe. Lovely items but very overpriced. The cafe was busy but service was very slow. Food tasty but not much for the price. Would have liked a walk around the lake but sadly the British weather wasn't very accommodating!”

Featherstone Castle
4.6
( 16 reviews ) $$

Hall Bank, Northumberland NE49 0JG, United Kingdom

“It's one of my favourite places. We rent the space for group events. It needs a lot of maintenance and support, but it's beautiful.”

Yolo Ponteland
4.1
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 11:00 PM

9, Bell Villas, Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne NE20 9BD, United Kingdom

“Visited this place for the first time. Very good ambience. There is a toilet available. Good food but the day we visited they did not have many items on the menu. Dogs are allowed into the restaurant. Suitable for disabled as well. No onsite parking available.”

Lindisfarne Priory, Museum And Shop
4.5
( 8 reviews )

Lindisfarne Priory Museum, Church Ln, Holy Island, Berwick-upon-Tweed TD15 2RX, United Kingdom

“Beautiful ancient site with lots of interesting information. The museum has a great mix of interesting artefacts and local artwork. The museum and shop are fully accessible, access to the Priory involves 5 steps (or a longer walk to an accessible entrance). We went in the rain and it was still worth it, I imagine it is even better on a sunny day!) Full disclosure: we are English Heritage members so entry was free.”
