Without a doubt, this is the best Indian in the region by miles. Friends came up from London to visit last time and were blown away by how good the food was...unbeatable!!”

“I have visited Kanpai Sushi twice for lunch in the summer of 2021 in a small group and a dinner in a larger group recently. Really nice: - extensive menu, large restaurant that is relatively calm and quiet with the sushi chefs working at a visible counter. - the ice creams are delicious - some of the sushi dishes are creative and delicious too (liked the maki wrapped in buckwheat) Room for improvement: - the service can get rather slow in the busy times and we got some of our orders confused while acting annoyed :( - the sizes of the dishes are difficult to predict, some nigiri sushi and sashimi can be very small. Make sure to confirm. I would probably try it again when it's calmer for lunch.”

“Hubby and I had lunch as my birthday treat before we left on a weeks break to Somerset. We were still able to dine outside as the weather was kind and the outside area is completely protected against any prevailing chill or wind. Beautifully decorated outside with fresh and faux flowers transported us to a secluded place in India. The staff are patient and considerate, not wanting to rush us as we sat open mouthed at all the tempting dishes on the menu. We chose to have a selection of street food which were cooked and presented beautifully. Every mouthful was savoured as we ate with our eyes too. Stunning colours and flavours led us into the next round where we both chose signature curry’s with rice. We were full before we even started on that course. I didn’t think I could eat another thing until I was presented with a chocolate brownie, decorated with edible flowers and ‘Happy Birthday’ piped in chocolate on the plate. They kindly gave me another glass of pink bubbles to wash it down with. Excellent service with smiles throughout the service. Reasonable prices make this more affordable to visit more often. Will definitely be back soon.”

“Someone should let the chef know that adding a coriander leaf to the top of a fish does not make it a Thai dish. Same goes for the crying tiger beef. It was nice enough, I suppose, but very plain. They have 80odd menu items, always a bad sign, there's no way everything can be made fresh. My starter soup contained rubbery, from frozen squid. Unpleasant.”

“Having driven past so many times decided to just pop in at the busiest time possible 7pm on a Friday no booking. The staff were amazing, and didn’t make us feel unwelcome and asked if it was ok to wait 30 minutes. Drinks were served and we were able to look at the amazing Christmas decorations which were really really special. The menu is incredible, choice is huge the poor chefs!!! We were shown to our table promptly and the whole restaurant atmosphere because of the amazing staff was homely. The only downside was, my family ordered rum and whiskey coconut icecream, but only coconut ice cream arrived. Then was told that rum and whiskey weren’t available. That should’ve been told earlier when we ordered it, as it was the reason why we got it at the first place! Other than dessert, this restaurant didn’t disappoint.”

“Food is delicious and most of them are a bit spicy. Love the sauce of Pad Thai and fried rice. Stir fry is the favorite, very Asian taste. Overall, the flavour is good, quite Asian style. The seating space is narrow and small, tables are close to each other. No A/C, so a bit hot when we first came in the evening, but it was better later. However, the wait for food was a bit too long during dinner time. We went on Tuesday, probably because the restaurant was packed during that time, or it just always that slow. Faster would be great.”
