“It is about the 10th time I was at Felix. Every time as been an exceptional experience. 💯 The first time also for dinner. Service extraordinary from the whole team. The drinks at the bar were great and the view on the fireworks at Victoria Harbour very nice. The dinner was perfect! Delighted to visit the next time.”

“The view is amazing, design is worth being instagrammed with lots of interesting details. The food is of high quality and if you want to taste local cuisine but wishing it to get properly explained this restaurant is the best place to do that. What should be amended is furniture for sure, the traces on the tables probably show the history of the restaurant but don’t add attractiveness to the place.”

Jw Cafe

J W Marriott Hotel Hong Kong Cum The Upper House, Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong

“Located at JW Marriott, a more casual buffet. Lots of options to choose from. Salad bar, charcuterie board, desserts, fruits, and noodle bar. Seafood section consisted of crabs, lobsters and shrimp. Hot section consisted of lamb rack, sausages, abalone, fish maw, scallops, chicken rice, and pasta. The sashimi didn't look very appetizing. One of the salmon didn't taste fresh at all. A welcome drink (Pepsi, sprite or beer) was included. Tea or coffee was also provided at the end. Visiting once is good enough. There are better buffet places.”

“Grand Hyatt just never goes wrong and as one of the most legendary luxury hotels in town, they got really nice restaurants! I had one of the best brunches I have had in town lately at the Grand Hyatt Steakhouse (I used to come here a lot for work dinner and it was still THAT good) The crab cake was a must eat and their steak was a 10/10 too! I also love the new Bloody Mary station where you can make your own drink! Super cool experience!”

Dim Sum Library

Shop 124, Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong

“Fushion dim sum restaurant that mixes typical Cantonese style dim sum with Western ingredients and cooking techniques. The ambiance is quite dark which adds to the mood. There are some unique creations here and some are very interesting such as using cod or crab as bit sized dim sum bites. Service is good and the servers are very attentive. It is quite pricey for the quantity you get but it's a fine dining restaurant so that is to be expected. It would also be a great place for a date given the dark ambiance. Most diners are foreigners and expats.”

“Thoroughly authentic Malaysian flavours (or as close as you can get) - flavourful, vibrant, rich, potent. Char kuey teow, nasi lemak, chicken satay, onde onde cake all excellent. Char kuey teow is VERY hard to find in HK: especially the type with depth of flavour, adequte charring from the wok, right hit of chilli, and even the use of duck eggs. The details make the difference. Rice in nasi lemak very fragrant. Sambal has layers. The hot calamansi sits on the boundary of sour and sweet, as it should. But bear in mind chickens in HK are smaller than those in Malaysia. This is an unchangeable fact. It didn't bother us at all since the flavours were excellent. Considering the friendly service, comfortable ambience, generous portion, the price is good (~HKD150-200 per head, or more depending on how widely you order). If anything, it is actually a great deal considering the quality in relation to the price since these flavours are very hard to find in HK restaurants. [Edit: have tried other dishes since initial review. Would also highly recommend CEREAL PRAWN for getting the crumb just right, SAGO PUDDING for the rich flavour of gula melaka, SINGAPORE LAKSA for excellent soup base, PIE TEE the renowned Peranakan dish that is almost impossible to find anywhere in HK.]”

Shop C, G/F, Tung Cheung Bldg. 1, 11 Second St, Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong

“A small cosy restaurant serving amazing testing menu. The food was exceptional, their wine selection even by glass ones was excellent. Their food is mainly western but with a bit of an asian twist which we then realized the chef was from the Philippine so he added some of his culture into some dishes. Only comment was that the testing menu wasn’t enough to make us full. Overall had a wonderful dining experience here, highly recommended”

“Quality Korean Bbq with a view. Korean dishes were spot on and the meats were really fresh. We especially loved the pork from Jeju. You can grill your own or ask the servers to grill for you. For the prices of the meal, I wished the side dishes they offered were refilled generously. We had to ask for refills from the staff. The restaurant is located at the 27th floor of iSquare so expect some really great views especially at night.”

“Not the friendliest but they were polite to us. Simple food, reasonably priced, clean. MSG also low, I don’t feel thirsty after the meal. Probably not your Michelin star porridge but simple neighbourhood food- I would definitely return.”

“Staff is very friendly and nice to pets, which is essential, because we took taxi over to this place just for the pets to fine in together. Thank you. The food and drinks are nice too :) Had the scone and hot matcha latte. The hotcake is more like chiffon cake than pancakes, just different from what we expected, because the look resembles what we had in Melbourne. Hotcake is pretty but the texture is not particularly what we enjoyed.”

“The service was extremely poor, especially to the staff in the front desk. I went there with my daughters around 5pm, the staff told us the tables inside were not available but the outside was still open, so she asked us if would like to sit there. I was hesitated because the weather was getting cold on that day, so I said we could have a look, then we refused as it was a bit windy. After we got inside, I asked if we could wait to get a table inside, she said no because they would close soon and would be available again at 6pm, but there’s no table available until 8pm according to the availability. My kids were starving so I asked if I could order the same popular bbq pork rice from in room service, she said no, it‘s different and was not from the cafe. Surprisingly, at the time when we were talking, there were 2 people walking in and successfully got a table inside( obviously the table can have 3 seats), so I asked the staff why they could have a seat. She said because I wanted to sit outside! How ridiculous! I was shocked by the fact that as a super 5-star hotel, they don’t have a sense of first come first serve. It was super disappointing. But this is not the worst! We then decided to go back to our room and check the in room serving menu, which has the exactly same food on it. So I called and asked if they are from the Holt’s cafe, the person said yes, which means the staff in the cafe lied to us! I don’t know if this is a 5-star hotel service standard. Overall, the food was good, the staff in the front desk was terrible, but other staff are quite nice.”

Potluck Eatery

138 Austin Rd, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong

“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Potluck, and I must say it was a delightful culinary experience. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was greeted with a warm and inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable meal. One of the standout dishes we tried was the Baked Portobello Mushroom with Crabmeat. The combination of the earthy mushroom and the succulent crabmeat was simply divine. The flavors melded together beautifully, creating a dish that was both rich and satisfying. Another highlight was the Black Truffle Fries with Cheese. These fries were expertly cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. The addition of black truffle elevated the dish to a whole new level, imparting a luxurious aroma and taste. The melted cheese on top added a delightful creaminess that complemented the fries wonderfully. Next up was the Linguine with Pan Fried Foie Gras in Porcini Cream Sauce. This dish was a true indulgence. The foie gras was cooked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The porcini cream sauce added a rich and earthy flavor that paired beautifully with the tender linguine. Every bite was a symphony of flavors. The Cannelloni with Lobster, Crabmeat, and Spinach was another standout dish. The cannelloni shells were filled with a generous amount of lobster, crabmeat, and spinach, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The dish was baked to perfection, with a golden crust and a luscious filling. It was a true delight for seafood lovers. To end the meal on a sweet note, we tried the Green Tea Ice Cream and Cheesecake. The Green Tea Ice Cream had a smooth and creamy texture, with a distinct and refreshing green tea flavor. It was the perfect palate cleanser after the rich and savory dishes we had enjoyed. The Cheesecake was equally impressive, with a velvety texture and a delicate balance of sweetness and tanginess. Overall, my dining experience at Potluck was exceptional. The restaurant showcased a mastery of flavors and ingredients, creating dishes that were both innovative and comforting. The attentive and knowledgeable staff added to the overall experience, ensuring that every aspect of the meal was enjoyable. I would highly recommend Potluck to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.”
