“The only kushiage I crave! Came here countless times, it’s my only option whenever I’m craving these deep fried skewers. There is something about the batter they used - it’s much lighter and thinner than the usual kushiage you’d see, giving you the perfect crunch in every bite without making you feel heavy or greasy. They taste very refined and yet priced reasonably. The ingredients/fillings range from meat and fish to vegetables and cheese. There are too many that I like here but I think my personal favorite is either garlic or asparagus. Depending on the chef you get though, sometimes the skewers might get a little more oily than usual. Still, it mostly doesn’t affect the overall meal and I always enjoy a good, filling kushiage dinner here.”

Awesome place for Singaporeans who miss home food and educational for foreigners who haven't tried Singapore food before. Definitely taste like home! Mark makes the atmosphere causal, cozy and comfortable. If I weren't staying so far, I'd probably visit more often! You should check out their story of how their little restaurant was born. “weekdays. We went to Shinanomachi and had lunch at "Meyau" along Gaien Higashi Dori. I often travel by car, but this may be my first time coming by train (I walked from National Stadium Station). Arrived 10 minutes before opening. There are already two groups waiting. The line grew, the store opened, and the place filled up immediately. Now, set A of mee yau curry (very spicy). A standard serving of curry and rice, with Thai-style beef tendon stew soba (small). Naturally, I also added cilantro. The spicy mee yau curry is made mainly from coconut milk and is definitely delicious. Contains chicken wings, potatoes, and half a boiled egg. Eating it with coriander is bliss. It's even more delicious if you boost the spiciness with tabletop prik nam pla and chili paste. Beef tendon stewed soba is made with chewy rice noodles, sweet and spicy stewed beef tendon, bean sprouts, and green onions. It's a refreshing but flavorful soup. If you add coriander here as well and sprinkle some chili pepper-infused shochu (don't be shy since you're not driving), it will be even more delicious. I thought I had eaten a lot, but I had a surprisingly light after-meal feeling. I'm satisfied.”

“Amazing Yakiniku experience at Ueno area. The beef is melt in your mouth, the other side dishes are also great. They have both English and Japanese menu. Their staffs are all polite and attentive which we appreciate a lot. Prices of their beef per plate is really reasonable. Compared to other restaurants in the area they're the few ones that closes late. We went around 9pm and they still accommodate us, the ambiance inside is also chill, there are few groups drinking and enjoying the end of the day. Will definitely come back to this place and recommend it to anyone who are staying near the area.”

“The most of meat came with sauce already, but the taste were good in general. The mix tongue plate was an absolute delight! However, the salads was basic and just some iceberg overly reliant on sauce, making it too salty. The cold noodles were also quite underwhelming. However, the meal ended on a nice gesture with the tea and ice cream. Overall the atmosphere here is pretty nice, making it a pleasant place for dinner.”

“Seats can only be booked online, and often are released the same day or day before. This is by design so that the shop is "easier" to visit if you're local. I've eaten a lot of sushi in Japan and Sawada is probably the most religious experience I've had. The flavors are rustic and punchy, and the course is quite large. You will likely walk away stuffed and needing to chug some water. There's reason this remains one of the top ranked sushiya in Japan, even after 20 years.”

“I always love tsukadanojo. It has a great range of food and drink and the food is always delicious. This place is big and you can normally get a table without a wait.
