“We came to Gunbae after Brookfield Mall closed at 8:30 pm, looking for kimchi fried rice. They didn't have it, so we ordered the seafood stew, fried chicken & seafood pancake. The food was excellent as was the service. The wings were slightly cold so the waiter quickly brought new ones. Serving sizes are larger than expected. There's a nice looking karaoke bar downstairs. Highly recommended for Korean food near the World Trade Center area.”

“Finally made it to Oji Mi! What a beautiful meal, excellent execution, and wow… top quality ingredients. The duck was flawless no sinew perfectly rendered fat and crispy skin. The plates are small. But the entire experience is quite filling. The team here really knows their roots and makes sure all the bases are covered for the traditional flavors of Korea. The service was excellent and attentive, explaining each course, and all courses were served beautifully and with care and great pride. We sat in the main dining room, and I had a full view of the kitchen. Was very entertaining to see how calm and purposeful the kitchen performed for a full restaurant!”

“Came here with a friend on a Wednesday night and it was super delicious with great service and great ambience. I know it might be a small touch but loved the playlist that was on that evening - not too loud but wonderful background tunes. The food was A+. We got the curry puffs, chicken wings, and papaya salad for appetizers which were delightful. The wings were perfectly crisped, the papaya salad was fresh and tangy, and the curry accompanying the curry puffs was smooth and flavorful. For our mains we got the BBQ beef fried rice - spicy but with some sweetness - and also the wok-fried shrimp (super spicy but so good). The dessert was icing on the cake - a mango mousse over sticky rice, very refreshing and with just the right amount of tart. Would love to go here again!”

“I didn't expect it, but this place has the best salmon sashimi outside of Japan I've had thus far--which is really weird considering it's not even a sushi place. Everything else was delicious as well. Great deal for the price.”

“Food was underwhelming. The tasting menu (first course with caviar and Asian pear and crispy seaweed) was a winner. The rest were mid. The smokiness in every dish did not have a significant progression or change of palate. The porridge was mid and the sweet potato donut for dessert was a chewy and dense. Was not a fan. Great service and attentive staff. But unfortunately I don’t think I’d be back.”

“My partner is a great fan of Chinese food, while I’m not a huge one. She enjoyed every bit of our evening and admittedly so did I! The cocktails were very creative and complemented the dishes nicely. We had the crispy beef, five flavour chicken dumpling, broccoli and mushroom main and the duck with noodles. All were amazingly delicious and special, not too fatty and very juicy. Will go back again.”

“* just don't get the shrimp dumplings * The pork chives stickers were great when dining in - because the crust stays crispy and the fillings were tasty and hearty. I would skip the shrimp dumplings, weird texture and flavor, tasted like a failed fusion attempt. These are thicker skin dumplings like your grandma used to make.”

“Yes, they have Peking duck but please try all the excellent dishes as well. I love their dumplings, soupy and soft and umami. I love their asparagus and their snow peas, tender but crisp and salted correctly. I love their wings, meaty and stuffed to have multiple textures. I love their steak, oh my goodness that sweet salty fatty steak. I recommend basically the whole menu. My advice is to order with balance: sweet and salty, fatty and light. You'll love this place. Also the staff is so cool, they made me feel like I was part of the neighborhood. Thanks for taking care of us.”

“Loved the food and ambiance here - it’s quieter than average so you don’t have to yell to hear each other and it’s great for date nights or intimate dinners with family and friends. They have a small, changing Asian fusion menu and we loved almost all the dishes here with the highlights being: - snow crab noodles with squash and dashi butter - heirloom tomato with “Tom yum” seafood and watercress - deviled eggs made crispy - fluke (fish) with massaman curry and CORN!! Definitely highly recommend those. We thought the quail, eggplant, and dessert were just OK. Delicious but nothing special and didn’t have the wow factor that other dishes had. Also we enjoyed the complimentary scallion pancake inspired balls at the start of the meal. Came out to about $95 per person after tax and tip for food and a cocktail.”

“Walked in without a reservation for a dinner for 2 on a weekday and had a great time! There was no wait and we were seated in the heated outdoor patio. The food came out quickly and everything was delicious! We got the tuna tartare, lasagna, and fettuccine alla bolognese. Shout out to our waitress, Samantha; The service here is truly incredible!!”

“Ok so I’ve been here before and I thought this was an all vegan restaurant. It is not. There is meat and egg served here. However, the good thing for vegetarians and vegans is that there is no fish sauce or MSG served in any of their dishes. So their menu is a little confusing by noting ‘vegan’ dishes when technically they can all be vegan with using only vegetables or adding vegan meat like daring chicken or tofu (and subtracting egg if in dish). I will say the flavors were absolutely delicious! I was quite surprised at how tasty their curry was and their rice was like a ginger-lemongrass flavor, which was yum in its own. The dumplings and spring rolls were tasty too. I’ll definitely be back. Just hoping they don’t cook the vegan food right next to the meat.”

“Went back here for my second time. Nothing like the first. It was at the end of the lunch rush. Got the same chicken curry I got last time only this time it was pretty bad. The chicken was so rubbery and oily. Ate once piece and threw the rest away. Giving 2-stars instead of 1-star since the first time I came was so good. Consistency is very important for a food establishment. No customer wants to come again and order the same thing and have such a different experience. Will def not be back especially with so many other choices in the area. The first photo was when I ate it for the first time and it was delicious ! This time was the to-go-order. You can even see the difference.”

“We came in one day for lunch, when we couldn't find any other places open in the neighborhood. The place does not disappoint us at all. Very good selections on the menu, nice staffs, and food are delicious. We had spicy duck breast, skewer, Thai tea and rice. They all very tasty and we like so much. If you are looking for a Thai place in Greenpoint, this is your destination.”

“Delicious meal in an intimate and almost fine-dining setting. There are 2 levels and we were seated on second floor. Our server, Xiomin was attentive and professional, quickly getting us what we order and need. The food itself is tasty and different, especially for someone having Beijing style food for the first time. Price is standard for NYC and our favorite dish was Signature Seafood Bisque that is basic but hit the right spot. Recommend as a must visit restaurant!”

“Rich flavors! Had the dweji gomtang and kimchi Mando. They only have one main dish and one side dish. Which both are totally awesome. The dweji gomtang has a very rich flavors but light at the same time. Clear soup not oily at all. It’s very comforting especially when you have it at cold weather. The pork is so sliced very thin that makes it so juicy and easy to chew. Dip it into the sauce to spice it up a lil bit. The kimchi mandoo is really well made. I can taste the kimchi and pork although its not too strong but when you dip it into the sauce, your world just spins around in joy. You need to reserve beforehand to secure your spot. It have limited seating; 6-7 persons max. The service is fast and accommodating. Would definitely go for another round in the near future!”

“Everything we had at LittleMad was amazing. Food and drinks were all uniquely delicious. The food was beautifully plated, and coursed perfectly. Alex took great care of us and had spot on recommendations. The Feast of the Seven Fishes set menu on Xmas Eve was amazing, my favorite was the roasted scallop with wood ear mushrooms and seafood froth.”
