“Excellent food and service!! We happened upon this place by chance on a Sunday evening. We live out of town and came to Seal Beach to go to a jazz show at Spaghettini the following day. We were driving around Seal Beach Blvd. looking for a good place to eat. The food was delicious and served quickly. I got the hot & sour soup, spring rolls and pot stickers. It's very hard to find hot & sour soup and chop suey where we live!! My husband got chicken chop suey. I loved my meal and he was very satisfied with his. Our server, Tony, gave us excellent service and he had a sense of humor. I recommend this restaurant.”

There was about 15 minutes wait because the table seating were limited. The place was very busy with To-go orders. Lots of people waiting inside and outside to pick up the orders. This kind of reinforced the food serverd here must be good. We seated and ordered Appetizer Tuna Taco, Salmon skin salad, Black Dragon roll, Crazy Rock N roll, House roll and Nabeyski udon The Tuna Taco are surprisingly delicious. The raw tuna went well with the tomatoes and the sauce. All the rolls are good and ingredients are fresh. The salmon skins were so crispy and flavorful. Nabeyski udon was not bad at all When ll definitely visit again and tried different rolls or even order to go to enjoy yummy food at the comfort of our homes 😊”

“I had high expectations for Cafe Hiro after reading some rave reviews online, but I was let down by the food quality and presentation. The restaurant itself was cozy and welcoming, with dim lighting and soft music. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. We ordered two dishes: uni pasta with spinach and chicken cutlet with curry sauce. We also got some drinks and bread to start with. The bread was warm and fresh, and the drinks were refreshing. I ordered the uni pasta was served in a small bowl, with the uni and spinach on top of the noodles. The chicken cutlet was placed on a large plate with rice on the side and the curry in a separate bowl. The taste was not much better. The uni pasta was bland and watery, and the spinach gave it a weird flavor that did not go well with the pasta. The chicken cutlet was tender and juicy, but the curry sauce was tasteless. It tasted like watered-down tomato sauce. The rice was dry and hard. I think Cafe Hiro needs to do a taste test review for their dishes once in a while for quality control. They also need to work on their food presentation.”

“delicious! we both ordered the regular (3 scoops of fish) and the bowls were *hefty*! So many topping options that they don't even charge extra for (there are some premium toppings they do charge). Maybe a tad pricey but I haven't really adjusted to inflation prices so maybe not 🤷. Anyway ended up being well worth the price. The gentleman helping us out was also very friendly and made conversation with us as he prepped our bowls.”

I ordered my food through Too Good To Go so, the price was very reasonable for the amount of food given. Based on the prices I saw, even at regular prices it seems like a petty good value. “I came here today on. Sunday afternoon around 11:30am and the wait was about 20 min which isn't bad considering it's a holiday weekend. The only thing pleasant about the service here was the host and she was the only person that I felt care about giving any type of customer service here. Once we were sat, we waited about 15 min before the host actually came back and we had to ask her if we even had a server. She took our order and then finally the server came by. We received our food fairly quick but had to ask twice for water and sauces. We ordered congee but weren't even given spoons. Now I understand if this was some run down dim sum place with super cheap prices but you are paying a premium for almost no service in an area that caters to better quality. The small dishes are around $5.50 and the medium plates are $8.50 and large plates are about $10.50. So 4 pieces of shumai and 3 pieces of dumplings for $8.50. Fine but give me better options for sauces besides plain soy sauce and basic rooster sauce in a plastic container. The restaurant ambience itself was actually very nice and food was actually really good. If we got just a little better service or if the pricing was so overpriced, I would not have been so dissatisfied. The worst part was that they charged us $5.00 for tea that we never ordered so I pointed that out to the server. Without even saying a word he yanks the check away and drops a new one on the table without saying anything. I mean, do people know that you get better tips by just being nice???Ive worked in the restaurant business as a host, busier, server and bartender and have never been so rude to people. Anyways, I will have to find other dim sum places or drive further for something better.”

The bar itself is nicely stocked and well appointed. They have a brunch menu and a dinner menu that feel different. Lunch menu was Asian fusion yes. Dishes were pretty good. Enjoyed the shrimp spring roll and the ox tail stew. Next time i may try dinner menu. Not sure why but this restaurant seems to be out of place in this location. Just my personal opinion.”

“I was told the peanut butter ones were the best. I'm not a fan of peanut butter but I have to say they were very good. However I am more into spicy and the regular Buffalo were good and the fire ones are super. We also ordered the lemon pepper and were very pleased with all options. I love that there is inside seating and outside sitting as well. We also ordered the Buffalo tender fries and they were amazing. Needless too say we ordered too much food but how else will you know what you really want for the next time, right? I have to say it will be a tough decision. Parking is not an issue and the restroom were nice and clean. Service was really good. Will have to come back soon!”
