“Amazing Setting, Wine, Food, and People We spent two nights at the farm house and our only misstep was not eating there both nights. Emidio Pepe is firstly a vineyard, and their care for their wine is second to none. The cellar tour, decanting process, and limited selection each demonstrate the commitment to releasing wine only when it is ready and allowing each vintage to define itself. The tasting with dinner (I went for the five wine tasting) was some of the most enjoyable wine I tasted on this trip. The food was hearty, delicious, and traditional - a meal I think about even now, months later. The kitchen is skilled (and accommodating to dietary restrictions), the service was delightful and timely, the whole experience left me wishing to stay at the table for another glass and more conversation, as it should be. And, of course, it is a family owned and operated business, with at least three generations on the property and operating various aspects, each fully versed in the agriculture, wine-making, and everything Abruzzo. Friends introduced us - I look forward to returning with them, and intend to bring more friends.”
