“I had the holiday set menu. The presentation of the food was excellent, and I enjoyed trying Malaysian ingredients with more modern dishes. The spare ribs were amazing, and the tomato chutney butter was the best fancy butter I ever had. I wish the menu overall had leaned more on the Malaysian flavors. The non-alcoholic pairing was interesting, though most drinks were too sweet. The staff was efficient, but they need to work on customer service. I arrived 8 minutes early (they had messaged me to tell me not to be late), and the hostess turned me back at the door and literally told me to go outside for a walk. They didn't even allow me to wait in the air conditioned lobby.”

“The food here is absolutely amazing! A friend recommended this restaurant to me and it did not disappoint. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly balanced. And the prices are reasonable. I will have to return so that I can try more items on the menu. Highly recommend!”

“Not the best tasting pastry but its okay, will be better if its served slightly warm. Wished that the egg tart crust would be more buttery and fragrant. Egg tart’s texture is good though.”

“We stayed in George Town for 2+ weeks recently and we discovered Joez Coconut because it was next door to a highly rated Thai restaurant (which was wonderful, too!). We really loved their coconut juice and shakes. We bought in person from them a couple of times a week when we ate at the Thai restaurant...and then we ordered coconut juice from them via Grab all of the other days. Delicious and one of my favorite things from our stay in George Town!”

“Crowded and popular laksa store, with outdoor seats and other snacks. The Siam Laksa tastes better than the Penang Laksa.”

“Went during Chinese New Year and there was a set menu, the staff were great as we didn't want the whole menu so allowed us to choose the dishes we wanted and only pay for them. Very tasty food especially the pandan chicken, and well worth …”

“The Nonya Kuihs are so good that we returned to the cafe to buy back home and ate on the plane. The young owner is super friendly. A cosy atmosphere for eating in too. A must go if you are in town.”

“Overall, the siew pau was tasty, but the other items we bought were just average. The restroom could use some improvement – there were a lot of mosquitoes in there, which was a bit funny. The staff were really attentive, though. It was actually the aroma of the pastries that drew us in! 😜”

“Delicious pancake with lots of varieties. It comes with sweet and salty version. Original, brown sugar, banana, chocolates, raisin, cheese, ham, sausage, tuna and many more.”

“I have been craving for Vietnamese food for a long time and finally today I managed to give it a try at Pho Vietz, even though this shop has probably opened for years. I ordered the Vietnamese spring rolls which has minced meat inside and sprinkled with grounded peanuts on top and then you can dip it into a sweet source sauce. It is really delicious and I love it. Next I ordered the pork belly sandwich bread and it is so delicious as well. The bread feels like it has been toasted so you can the crispy texture on the bread and mix it up with the ingredients like the pork belly meat and vege and voila, you have a superb delicious combination here. I still haven't tried the famous soup noodle which I believe is called Pho so I will definitely try in my next visit 😉”

Universiti Sains Malaysia, Kafe Siswa Bangunan G-26, 11800 USM, Pulau Pinang, Malaysia
“Conveniently located within USM campus, next to Kafe Siswa. Purple sweet potato is unique, can request for less sweet version. Salted egg yolk croissant is good, one bite and egg yolk oozes out. Limited seats as the place is small but foot traffic turnover makes it still able to dine in. No table service, pick up at counter. Parking within the compound. Not sure if open on weekends, it was closed on previous 2 visits on Saturdays. And no response to texts in Messenger.”

“This restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide. If you don’t want to be turned away, better make a reservation first especially on weekends. But we find the food rather so-so especially the tomyam. But this is definitely a clean place to dine in and the dishes are served rather quickly.”

“Superb. Delicious These the words come to mind after my meal here. First of all parking is easy, There's usually lots of space and there's a large parking area just next to it. Im a little bit confused what to order at that time because it's my first time here, then i ask the waitress to suggest me something good there. And she explain in details about the taste of the food, and i decided to order Black Pepper Steak.#godblessthewaitress The portion is quite enough for small girl like me haha😂. All well cooked, and delicious with the accompanying black pepper sauce. But in general, i had good time and totally enjoyed the meal. Will definitely come again.”
