The Gelato Fiasco

( 16 reviews )
Open until 11:00 PM

74 Main St, Brunswick, ME 04011, United States

“Perfect after lunch snack! We stopped in to try the November flavor drop, and we fell for the Fall in Bourbon County 🍂🥃🍧. My favorite flavor is the Toasted Coconut 🥥🌴 and I chose to combine the two. The staff is always fantastic and if you find a favorite flavor, you can take home a pint. Whether you're a local or visiting from away, definitely pop in and try a flavor or two!”

“Great little candy shop. They were tasty testing caramels and lemon bits. Both excellent. Friendly staff and service.”

Gorgeous Gelato Portland
4.7
( 16 reviews )
Open until 09:00 PM

434 Fore St, Portland, ME 04101, United States

“9/30/23 - What a cute spot! I love ice cream and especially gelato. They let you try flavors before picking if you want. I went to ask for the dark chocolate and the gorgeous. He then told me do I want both which how could I say no? His positive and energy was so nice. He was so cheerful and seemed so happy to be there. The inside was cute too. It was busy but went by quick. There isn't too much space when you first get in to get the gelato but not a huge deal.”

“Love this place. Make sure you get the cinnamon bun”

The Pickled Wrinkle
4.5
( 8 reviews ) $$

9 E Schoodic Dr, Birch Harbor, ME 04613, United States

“Definitely some mixed feelings about this place. Over time things have changed. The first glaring issue is the menu. It’s called the pickled wrinkle. That’s seafood. Aside from a specials board, there’s no fresh seafood on the menu. And the specials are things everyone has and not that special. It’s mostly pizza and burgers. They have a limited cocktail menu that doesn’t really excite people. We had to started getting creative ourselves and ask if they could put things they had together as a cocktail. Food itself was just ok. Not much that we ordered is anything we had to come there for. The pizza dough was thin a crispy but more like a cracker. The one thing that was absolutely amazing was the maple mustard which was a sweet brown mustard. The staff was nice and did their best with what they had. Unfortunately, my final assessment is it’s not worth it. They need to get out of that comfort level and take some chances. They have endless opportunities and it feels like they aren’t trying hard enough.”

“Just ate here and it leaves a lot to be desired. You come in, place your order, they give you a tag for your table so they know where to bring your food, you eat them you clean your table and put away your dishes. For starters this is not my work. I'll be there in two hours. The reason you pay to go out to eat is to receive a service not to clean your table and put away your dishes like you are an employee. Second the presentation of the plate is very unappetizing. The food lacks flavor and quality, the staff seemed confused where to put people's food asking us if we had a single plate of something we didn't order. Over all, it's disorganized, you have to do work, the food lacks flavor, the place could be cleaner and let's also talk about the excessive posters that are political. I'm all for a good debate but it is my option politics have no business in a restaurant. Maybe focus on your food and service. The music is really good though. Not coming back though. Not my cup of tea but thank you for reminding me what it was like to eat in a school cafe.”

The Cookie Jar

“So grateful for this place! Not only are their butter crunch donuts *the best* any day of the week, but I recently ordered a birthday cake and cupcakes for my daughter's 1st birthday. The team was communicative, the turnaround was quick, and the cake was gorgeous and delicious. New go-to for event needs!”

The Sinful Kitchen
4.5
( 10 reviews ) $$

952 Brighton Ave, Portland, ME 04102, United States

“The Sinful Kitchen is a staple in our Maine rotation any time we visit. From the moment we stopped in the very first time, we were welcomed like they'd known us our whole lives. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and helpful, ensuring that you receive the best service possible. The food though...the food. Wow. Everything - literally everything - I've had here the many times we've stopped in has been nothing short of delicious. My spouse jokes with me because I often get the omelette wherever I go, but Sinful Kitchen has so many great options that I always seem to find myself going for waffles or french toast here - often the special that is of the stuffed variety. The Sinful Kitchen is an absolute gem and one place that we always look forward to dining at when we visit. Can't wait to come back!!”

Sud's Pub
4.6
( 8 reviews )

151 Main St, Bethel, ME 04217, United States

“I am a pub kind of guy! And this one did not disappoint! We came in for dinner after a long day of lounging on a rainy day in December. The pub is located in the basement of the Sudsbury Inn. The pub was crowded, but the atmosphere was laid-back and pretty chill. We were greeted and sat after about 5 minutes. Big wood tables, a large bar in the middle of the space, and a stage and dance floor. We all got drinks. I especially loved the Pabst Blue Ribbon $2.50 draft special! Everyone of the 5 of us enjoyed their meals. We had the baked Haddock (2 orders). Nicely done and served with rice and veggies. (We had one made gluten free without the bread crumbs.) I had the Carnivore pizza. I have to say, I am from NY and a bit of a pizza snob, but the pizza was surprisingly good. The small pie was more than enough for me and to share. Crust was great, perfectly cooked and topped with ham, pepperoni and sausage. We also had the veggie burrito (which was huge and loaded with cheese on the outside!). We added grilled chicken. My son had the haddock sandwich, which he loved and the sweet potato fries, which were excellent. I would have liked a maple dip. The service was excellent and friendly. A live musician played a couple of sets while we were there and we thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment, food and atmosphere of the pub. This may become our go to place when we come back!”

Tinder Hearth
4.9
( 16 reviews ) $$

1452 Coastal Rd, Brooksville, ME 04617, United States

“Tucked away in Brooksville, Maine, you'd be forgiven if you mistook Tinder Hearth for just another countryside retreat. But as we walked the flagstone path, lined with fragrant herbs and edible flowers, it became clear that this was an ode to the art of pizza. And then there's the pizza. It's a revelation. The crust, blistered from the wood-fired oven, is perfectly chewy and crisp. The toppings, an ever-changing parade of local produce, taste of the seasonal picks from the farmer’s market. But Tinder Hearth is more than its pizzas. Salads, fresh from the garden, burst with colors and flavors so vivid they almost eclipse their pizza partners. Freshly shucked oysters, wine and beer options were available - with classic soft serve for dessert. The space is very family friendly, but leave your dogs at home. Would I drive the winding roads to Brooksville just for a pizza? In a heartbeat. Because Tinder Hearth isn't just about pizza. It's about celebrating Maine, one slice at a time.”

18 Central Oyster Bar & Grill
4.7
( 16 reviews )

18 Central St, Rockport, ME 04856, United States

“Always a treat for a warm and cozy evening - wine, oysters, scallop raw bar, *best* mussels in the area, great brussels sprouts. My family's go-to place for celebrating things, and in the winter, just a nice hangout!”

The Lost Fire
4.4
( 8 reviews )

62 Mills Rd, Kennebunkport, ME 04046, United States

“This could have been a very different rating if not for the excellent manager at this restaurant. Our party of 4 was initially seated at a high top in the bar. It was so loud and chaotic that we couldn’t even hear the lovely server. We were not at all interested in this type of atmosphere. We would rather go home and eat pizza. I went to the host stand and was helped by the manager and her lovely staff. They immediately moved us to a much nicer booth in the dining room. I have previously had trouble with seating at this restaurant. I will only be specific in my reservation for now on. We are not high top guests. The food was good as always. If you are into beef this place is top notch and the bread pudding desert was delicious!”

The Italian Bakery

“What an amazing experience! If you want to enjoy truly creative cuisine, go to Regards. Everything was delicious. I’m not sure sharing the photos of what we ate helps because their menu changes often, but I’ll share anyway. Get all their desserts. Their wine list is fantastic. They have wines from Greece and Slovenia. Service: Thank you, Madison K., for all your recommendations.”

Union Bagel Company
4.6

147 Cumberland Ave, Portland, ME 04101, United States

“The best bagels in town. The end. The everything bagel is, well, everything. Add one of their house-made cream cheese flavors and prepare for an out-of-body experience. Every Thursday, I place my pre-order online for Friday pickup- they make it super easy and are really transparent about the process on their website and social- Trust me, the bagels are worth the wait. Great product. Incredible staff. Keep doing what you're doing!”

Portland Pie Company
3.9
( 8 reviews ) $$
Open until 08:00 PM

40 Main St, Biddeford, ME 04005, United States

“I share the sub par experience of other reviewers for this location. Store is managed poorly. I've had more than onebad experience at Biddeford. For example, I called in an order & they got it wrong even tho they were almost empty! Discovered the missing items so called them on the way back home to advise of the mistake but the Guy on the phone was extremely rude and the female manager wasn't any better when she got on the phone. NO offer of compromise and no understanding or kindness towards the customer. We are done with the Biddeford store. I'll travel to the Scarborough store if I want P Pie pizza. It has ALWAYS been consistently excellent there. The Biddeford store is an EPIC FAIL!!!”

Leavitt & Sons- Portland
4.6
( 8 reviews ) $$
Closed until 10:00 AM

200 Kennebec St, Portland, ME 04101, United States

“Leavitt and Sons takes deli food to the next level. I’ve tried many things on the menu and while each individual salad, sandwich and soup stands alone in their flavors, they all contain a love for food, craftsmanship and above all deliciousness. The staff has always been welcoming and friendly, and the location is nice to eat at or take out. My favs are the Franklin sandwich and the Cobb salad. While I’m not a vegetarian, I’m sure they have vegetarian options and could accommodate any flavor preferences well.”
