Great selection of fresh, packaged and frozen desserts and pastries. Queues can form later in the day so coming earlier is definitely better. Would happily return to get more treats in the future.”

“Very cute diner experience! Great menu with good options. The wait was supposed to be 30-40 minutes for a table but we got seated in 15-20ish. The service was super lovely and the suggestions of the waitstaff was very helpful in making a breakfast choice. Highly recommend this place the three dishes we got were amazing! Only room for improvement was the coffee but Highwire tends to be more acidic so no real big complaint.”

There’s no parking lot for parking that I saw. But there was street parking in front. There were no stairs to walk up. It would accommodate a wheelchair.”

“These donuts are delicious!! A local in line suggested a few I wouldn’t have otherwise tried including the o.m.j., the lemon, and the Apple fritter… and these ended up being our favorites!! Everything we tried was delicious, the cronuts, the cream filled maple, and the minis. We will definitely go back when we are in the area! The iced coffee was reasonably priced and hit the spot too.”

“I've visited this place many times over the last few years. My favorite unofficial menu item is the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich but on a biscuit. I'm from Tennessee and we love our hot chicken and biscuits, so I was pleasantly surprised at how scrumptious this sandwich was. When my family and friends visit, I make them try the sandwich to compare to "our" home cooking and they are equally impressed. The sandwich is very filling, so sharing is not a bad idea. 😉”

“Kind of similar to the cheeseboard, but when you walk in and see the little cabinet with the fruit tarts in it, something tells you that this is very special in its own way. The variety is incredible. Not just traditional French things as the name implies, but also very American at the same time with favorites of mine like scones, artisan bread, cookies and cakes. I can easily imagine that you could have a different item for a month, if not 5 to 6 weeks. Really cute outdoor seating as well if you enjoy this sunshine and people watching. This really is a lovely part of town if you have a free afternoon.”

“We came here right from the airport to kill some time for traffic to die down. It’s 15 minutes from the airport and we are so glad this is where we stopped. The scenery is beautiful, the place was quiet and clean with outside sitting. I wished I could have ordered almost the whole menu. But we kept it simple and ordered the lobster roll and the Hawaiian shrimp garlic noodles. The lobster roll was delicious, the lobster was fresh, on an amazing roll! I was skeptical about the Hawaiian shrimp garlic noodles, but since it was a recommendation by the cashier, we tried it. I’m very glad we did! The noodles were garlicky, the shrimps were plumb and fresh. I would definitely order them again if we are ver in this area. This was a great stop as we head on to Napa.”

I chose the guava flavored ice cream which hinted at the guava flavor but was overpowered by the other items in the sundae. The Gulab Jamun were way too sweet for me. I could have done with just 1 of them. The hot chutney cheese toast is genius. So good, wish I would have ordered 2. Staff member was friendly and patient with my indecisiveness. “Big Time Bake winners The Cupcake Shoppe have been on my must-try list for a decade! That's because we moved away from Hayward before I got to trying them, but now we're back. Finally time! I had to get the french toast cupcake for which they are famous. The cinnamon frosting flavor was so good! I do wish I could taste more bacon, though. Even as a day-old, the mocha cream was delicious, and I was delighted to find caramel inside. Probably my fave of the bunch. And yes, that's a little shooter of tequila on top of the margarita cupcake! I wish the lime flavor was stronger in this one, but the color and the novelty is a lot of fun. We'll definitely be making regular stops at this joint when I'm downtown.”
