“Having recently stayed in Appin for just over a week, I visited the Creagan Inn 4 times and was never disappointed. The staff was efficient, friendly, and engaging. I had their fish and chips, as well as the Cullen Skink, both of which were excellent. There is a large outdoor area where you can sit and enjoy your meal and a gorgeous view of Loch Linnhe, yet plenty of indoor seating should you want to escape the elements outside. I will most definitely return.”

“Atmosphere is absolutely lovely, I adore the multiple street food options. We tried the hot dogs and some nachos, everything was delicious, and messy as street food should be! Staff was also immensely friendly and helpful! My only compliant is that the food is a bit pricey, without it being a generous portion either. That combined with the entrance fee can make this an expensive day out. Bigger portions please! 😆”

“Went to dinner here 2 nights in a row during our trip to hike Ben Nevis as were staying at the youth hostel nearby. Excellent and friendly service, and it was great both nights - first when we didn’t have a reservation so ate cafeteria style at the bar and next evening when we had the quieter restaurant booking. Didn’t matter as food was off the same menu and excellent both evenings. The potato skins in particular were to die for with generous portions. The rest of the food too was great and made for great pre and post hiking fuel! It was obvious this was a special place for Fort William locals who are otherwise starved for great places to eat.”

“We'd ordered paneer sizzler, dal makkhani, samosa, garlic naan and tandoori roti. The food was piping hot and portion size was adequate. Samosa was good and so was chole. Paneer in the sizzler was hard & chewy. We quite didn't enjoy the sweet & sour sauce of sizzler. Dal wasn't dal makkhani. Don't get me wrong, it was tasty, however, it's preparation was like a mix dal. Naan and tandoori roti were the store bought kinds, not the freshly made types. Overall, it was an overpriced average meal.”

“Enjoyed a great family Sunday lunch at The Bothy recently. There was live music when we arrived which added to the relaxed atmosphere. Really enjoyed the Scallop & Asparagus risotto and the Chorizo and potato broth with Cod and asparagus was great, followed by a very indulgent chocolate tart with tangy orange sorbet. Very reasonable prices and the serving staff were all great, recommending the dishes and the wines.”

“Well wonderful place inside. however the service…we ask twice for desert menu , after we got we waited another 30 min for the waiter, so we decided to leave it. Also they limit you to the time as they very busy but the staff is very slow.. not sure why they charge service charge… Very disappointed as if you charge high price for the food and drinks you expecting to be treated in a better way. Sea bass 26 pounds and extremely salty chickpea the offer with a steak is good! Large mussels is a joke 15£ for a tiny portion. That’s what I mean for a posh and fine dining I don’t mind to pay if the whole experience is worth it.”

The portion size looked great, but the chips were the saltiest chips I'd ever tasted, ruining the meal, taking away from the steak, which was average anyway. The service was great, but no one checked back on the meal, meaning I had to flag someone down. The food was kindly replaced, although I wasn't really needing a whole new steak, the steak was much better the second time. The chips were better, but even still, very salty. The wine was expensive and nothing special. It would be nice to have an affordable glass on offer to go with the steak and frites deal.”

“Went for a Prosecco afternoon tea. Was given terrible service from the moment we walked in. Never given a chance to order a drink, never received our Prosecco even though that was noted in the reservation notes. Once we received our food they never checked on us until we were done our food. Food was really good but was overshadowed with how bad the service was. Once we finished our food it was 15 minutes until they cleared our table (which they only cleared half). When we asked for the bill it was another 15 minutes we waited until we finally went to the bar trying to settle and leave. The manage then looked at our table saw we didn’t have Prosecco and saw our gift certificate said Prosecco ignored it and said it was fine and we were good to go. I would never go back to this place, it was clear we were not the only ones that were receiving terrible service. I would highly discourage anyone from going here, the food is good but not worth fighting at each step for service. Very disappointing.”
