“This lunchtime staple has been drawing crowds for decades to its West Jefferson location. The food is basic pub fare with some surprising extras thrown in. It's prepared per customer request and is tasty and hot. The restaurant is clean and features a wide section of seating options. Service was speedy, friendly, and professional. Prices are comparable to similar restaurants in the area. My group of three was welcomed to hang for a three-hour reunion lunch with no hurry. I have always enjoyed this family-owned strip mall outlet and anticipate many future visits.”

“Excellent tavern/bar food. Had a nice selection of burgers and sandwiches. Would also definitely recommend the buffalo chicken rolls app. Good variety of beer both on tap or in bottles. Place isn't huge and is seat yourself, so could have a little wait. But food is really good and staff was friendly, so I thought it was worth it.”

“I had a great meal here. They gave me a small cup of the gumbo, which is only on the menu as an entree. I wanted to try it, but not have it as my meal. The gumbo was very good, and had a good amount of protein in it. The shrimp and grits were outstanding. Great flavor and texture. Everything about it was fantastic. It was filling, but not heavy, and it didn't make me feel stuffed. The sauce was so good it made me want to lick the plate! I had the bread pudding, which was also delicious. Great texture added with one of the pieces scored and charred. The sauce was excellent. The only thing lacking was I wish it had more of the sauce. This is the only time I have been here, but judging by my experience I would recommend it.”

The people next to me ordered the $5 smash burgers and these were huge burgers--definitely a value at $5. The service was great, bartenders very friendly. There just hasn't ever been a crowd when I've gone in, so be prepared for a quieter time here.”
